So far so good no issues or complaints. They came calibrated so that's a huge plus. I was a little skeptical buying these tools at such a cheap price. My other set costs over $400. Unfortunately they will WEAR YOU OUT and BOTH your hands (you will not be able to 'one hand' these as I had hoped) will be hurting at the end of the day, especially with the 3/4 ones! After a dozen 3/4 crimps, it was just about all I could do to make a few more, and I have GOOD GRIP power too! In fact I found I was using a Joist to push against the handle to make the crimp. The 1/2 is not near as bad. These BOTH require some technique to get used to and the head is fat enough you have a real hard time getting the crimp 'just right' against an elbow (or such) with the other pipe already crimped in place without moving the crimp ring you are working on, out of place, and making a BAD crimp. I ended up using My Zurn's and "building the pipes" then using these to put the built line in place and crimp in the 'tighter spaced' areas. I was surprised that the Pipe Cutter (included) was better than my BOUGHT cutter and in fact I like it much better!!! PS. I discovered a technique that was a big help: If you OPEN the jaws all the way up, you give the handles a squeeze and they will lock in place, and when you release, they clamp down. Can you do it one handed ? Our current shark bite ones have longer handles. Leary of handheld concept.** A: I don't have any trouble. I have been swinging a hammer since I was 10 but dont consider myself to have super human strength. **Q: How much room or space do the tools need to operate? Can they operate in tight spaces? Between two joists on 16" center?** A: I can't tell you numbers but with the offset head they will work in very tight spaces. That's the advantage of having 2 crimpers. 1/2 & 3/4". Only advice-buy xtra pipe (pex) and PLENTY of crimp rings. I buy them in the 100 pack. What I've done to stop the rings from "sliding" on the pex is to -put the ring in the tool and just let the spring tension of the tool and just a very light squeeze on the handles it makes the ring just a bit out of round--you can feel it kind of click--it will still slip over the pex but then will not slide from where it has to be. I often need to make plumbing connections in crawl spaces that do not permit the access for large or combination crimp tools. The tool has a two-stage mechanism that allows the jaws to open wide enough to fit around the pipe and crimp ring. I’ve used both the 1/2 and 3/4 tools, I’ve dragged them through dirt in various crawlspaces, and I’ve had zero issues.
