Review: A great app for younger and older children! - Our Tacto chess arrived last weekend and I’m even more impressed than I expected to be. The figurines are a really good size for little hands and seem very well made. The app actually teaches the child how to play chess so no parental knowledge is needed - this was brilliant for me. The themes are great for making the game child friendly. My little one isn’t actually 6 yet and still enjoyed playing it. The only thing to keep in mind for younger children is that there is a little bit of reading, for example ‘your king will be checked’ but I wouldn’t let this put you off getting the app if your child is less than 6. I’m already looking to see which app to get next!

Our Tacto chess arrived last weekend and I’m even more impressed than I expected to be. The figurines are a really good size for little hands and seem very well made. The app actually teaches the child how to play chess so no parental knowledge is needed - this was brilliant for me. The themes are great for making the game child friendly. My little one isn’t actually 6 yet and still enjoyed playing it. The only thing to keep in mind for younger children is that there is a little bit of reading, for example ‘your king will be checked’ but I wouldn’t let this put you off getting the app if your child is less than 6. I’m already looking to see which app to get next!
