I don't mind, but then again, they don't ride as much as I do, so they are not used to it. So, before I rebuilt one of our old TREK bikes which will have included a new seat, I decided to look into what's out there in terms of comfort and, for that lack of a better term, sportiness. I wanted something comfortable yet still compact -- a not-so-big seat that would not overpower the rest of the bike, in other words. When it comes to aftermarket parts and accessories for bikes, things like bags and handle bars and whatnot, I really like what Sunlite has to offer. They offer stuff of the highest quality at affordable prices, and their line of CLOUD 9 comfort seats are no different. As for the seat: According to my son who rides the bike the most, he thinks that this seat is very comfortable. I believe now that he will actually ride this bike more often. My wife, too, thinks that it is better than most seats, but she also thinks that it is still not as comfortable as a full-blown comfort seat with their wide saddle and spring-loaded goodness. It's true, this seat is a compromise, but a pretty darn good compromise, nonetheless. Though a huge comfort seat would have made this particular bike look weird, like a big UFO had landed on the seat post. The color scheme of the seat is neutral, with its colors of grey and dark grey. It should look fine on a wide range of bikes. It comes with one of those old-school seat post clamps, but you can take it off and use the more modern clamp that is already built on to newer seat posts. By the way, Sunlite makes really great, high-quality seat posts too. The foam top is very comfortable; it's very squishy. And the rubber-bumper style springs work continually while you pedal, slightly rocking back and forth with each leg pump, not to mention too that they absorb a ton of bumps on really rocky ground. My only beef is that heavier folks like me who weigh over 200 pounds can really give those rubber springs quite a workout. It seems to me that I am either bottoming them out or that they are under a lot of stress when riding over the harshest of terrain. It's a somewhat annoying feeling. They also make that familiar sound when springs are under stress, sorta like a grinding noise. Though, I'm sure this would be true for all comfort seats, and that I probably would bottom out all but the most springiest of them. Then again, I'm so used to a rigid seat, that a seat like this would probably just take time to get used to. Sunlite makes the very same CLOUD 9 seat but WITHOUT the rubber springs. So, perhaps that might be the way to go if you are heavy. Either that or get a full-blown, monstrous comfort seat. If you want a more modern-looking comfort seat that isn't the size of a UFO but still provides plenty of squishy comfort, then you really can't go wrong here. Highly Recommended! Review: So comfortable and stable on hardtail and full suspension mtn bikes...LOVE this bike seat - Man, I got lucky and my local bike shop had one of these, and once I put it on my hardtail, I was hooked, and have bought 3 for my full suspension mtn bike and replaced my original spring version with this newer one. They work great and the gel does hold up for a longggg time. My old one still felt good, but after like 4 or 5 yrs of use when I sat on the new one I noticed a little bit of a difference. Anyhow, great seats and also. I've been over 220lbs the whole time I have owned the original and new ones. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cloud-9 is almost right! *by T***H on July 31, 2012* Expectation: Allows me to plant my buttocks on upon it while peddling, and doesn't produce a numbness in my nether regions during extended use... All without looking like I've mounted a full size love seat to my bicycle. Results: I can easily ride my bicycle for long periods of time while in the seated position and not have any "numbing" side effects. Plus, no wider [or longer] than my previous saddle. I like to go for longish rides, over both trail and road, and I like to be comfortable. This saddle, thus far, allows me to do exactly that. I've put just a tad over 120 miles on this saddle, with ~65% of that in a single trip. The suspension blunts bumps in the trail -- really nice when you have a hardtail. The ample gel padding keeps my cheeks well cushioned. Most importantly, that indentation in the middle really works, and after 5 hours of riding, I don't have an uncomfortable tingly sensation in places that shouldn't be feeling uncomfortable or tingly. The outside covering is durable -- having fallen more than once now --- against stuff that would tear lesser seats. So it's all kittens, rainbows, and fluffy clouds right? Not quite. First, this seat is heavy. One does not expect to buy a suspension seat, with lots of super comfy gel padding and have it be light-as-a-feather, so this shouldn't surprise anyone. Still, it's worth mentioning that you're getting a lot of seat. As mentioned in another review, I found the seat rails were about a millimeter wider than my seat post clamp. Just enough to make mounting this seat a problem. I fixed this this by bending my top bracket ever so slightly.
