WHICH IS RIGHT?** A: Hi Keith,All "claded" ply- 3, 5, or the new 7 in stainless and MC2, along with copper core, and copper cookware is made in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. In other words, any item that has been cladded all the way from top to bottom, is USA made. If any item is a clad bottom ONLY- does not go all the way up the pot or pan, like the one pictured, it is made in China. The "B3" anodized is also made in China as it is not clad all the way. The inside diameter of the steamer basket is 9.5 inches at its' widest point and 4 1/8th inches deep. The pot depth is 5 7/8 inches. When inserted, the steamer basked goes into the pot approximately 1 3/4 inches.I use this steamer regularly. In fact, I used it today to par-steam two pounds of Brussels Sprouts for freezing. I could not be happier with the product. It gets a great deal of use in my kitchen. **Q: What's the inner diameter of the 5&6 quart pots where it closes with the lid? if possible in cm as i'm from europe. thanks.** A: It is 9.5 inches, 24 cm. Solid All-Clad construction, and excellent All-Clad performance. One of my go-to workhorses, especially when cooking for one or two. A perfect steamer. Great for soups, stews, curries, and one pot meals. Excellent for just about any noodle, e.g., rice, mung, sweet potato, buckwheat or wheat. With the aluminum ply base and curved body, water boils quickly. It has a nice response too. Excellent for steaming eggs instead of hard-boiling them. This pot steams 15 large eggs easily, with all eggs on their side in the basket. If stacked, then a couple dozen or more. Steams 15 eggs in 12 minutes for a soft non-runny yolk, 15 to 17 minutes for firmer yolk (your mileage and personal preference may vary). Bring water to a boil, place the basket with eggs in the pot, cover, steam for desired consistency, flash chill in cool water if desired or let them stand and cool slowly. Stainless steel construction, it cleans easily and buffs to a mirror finish with a soft cloth. A very light coat of cooking spray or oil wiped down with a cotton, microfiber or paper towel prevents spotting after washing and drying, and helps preserve the finish and rust resistance.
