It works great, and because it is a real Sony and is rated to do so, will actually accurately report the time left when used with the DSC-HX9V camera. A very good buy at a much more reasonable price than list, and is the real thing. Five stars.(Note: My strategy, and I use it only as my own, is to have a couple of "authentic" batteries like this that provide accurate time and status information on the camera's display, and then supplement these with a couple of the no-name off-brand batteries. They may not last as long between recharges, and they don't accurately report remaining charge on the camera's display, but I can use my two "real" batteries first, and then, if needed, pop in the others to end the day off. As others have mentioned it is compatible with the info-lithium capabilities of some cameras which guesses at time remaining and not just a "fuel" gauge. Capacity seems fine and holds a charge as expected. Some reviewers report suspicion of getting a fake battery - I didn't notice any funny business with the battery or packaging, ordered from seller "AC365".
