If a fast, accurate CQC target acquisition is needed or the optic goes down, simply flip out the D-45 Sights and roll the firearm 45 degrees counter-clockwise. The D-45 Rear Sight's patented Diamond-shaped apertures and Diamond-shaped upper housing allow the eye to place the D-45 Front Sight's post in the exact center of the Rear Sight's aperture. The spring-loaded D-45 deploys with the push of a button and stows flat. Review: Excellent offset backup sights - Very well made and solid construction. Mounts on the rifle in less than a minute. Work as described. I was a little worried when I first pulled them out of the packaging as I couldn't get the sights to fully open. Turns out they need to be mounted on the rifle to operate properly as they need the solid footing to fully actuate and open. Once on the rifle, they worked perfectly every time. Great purchase. Review: I'm impressed with the quality, - I'm impressed with the feel and functionality of them. a little gritty if you hold them as they swing, but that is to be expected considering the finish is a matte finish. You can easily keep the "pop up" from happening if you have anything in the way as they swing out, but that is easily fixed by helping them continue extending, they then pop into place. They are VERY snappy, not so much that it would hurt you if your hand is in the way, but they are nice. I have them on my PrecisionFireArms, PF-15. With a Leupold VRX 4-12X40mm. The opening clip i am showing that they clear the scope well before they start to pop up. I have not had a chance to REALLY ... *by L***. on August 31, 2014* SO far I sent one back. Front sight would not function properly. Sent it back, had a new one in a few days and mounted the new set. So far so good. I have not had a chance to REALLY put it through its paces but I like it's function and form.
