Review: well written - This book was a departure from the silly - fluff romance stories that this author tends to write. This book deals with a very real health issue that millions of people have had to face in their lives. The characters are well written and the reader feels as though we are right there in the story with the characters. The story eventually becomes a tear-jerker but we are left with a semi- happy ending. I enjoy stories that include animals and this story has both a dog and a cat who lighten the mood a bit when the story threatens to become too heavy. All in all it was a very good read.

This book was a departure from the silly - fluff romance stories that this author tends to write. This book deals with a very real health issue that millions of people have had to face in their lives. The characters are well written and the reader feels as though we are right there in the story with the characters. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reason for My Four Stars

OK, this was a good book. Not Debbie's best. Throughout most of the book, it felt like a person on the witness stand testifying. There seemed to be a lack of something. In her other books, I wanted to know the characters ...be a member of their families. It was deeply into this book until I felt any empathy with the characters. The only reason why this was true for me is because I have lost two close friends to cancer, and now my beautiful dog has cancer. I don't mean to be critical as I have read all of Debbie's books, but this just wasn't one of her best for me.
