A Solid Collectible
First a little history:I've owned several Master Replica and Hasbro sabers in the past. I had to sell my collection some time ago, but I decided I needed to have at least one saber and I had some store credit, so I pulled the trigger on this puppy. The Kit Fisto saber seemed a good choice because A: Green blade! and B: He's a somewhat lesser known character making the saber more unique. The Hilt: The hilt looks great. It's mostly brushed aluminum and has a very clean look. The build quality feels better than the old Hasbro models and more on par with the old MR models. The lack of many large protrusions on the hilt makes the saber very easy to spin around and maneuver. The removable blade is great and feels just as solid as any other saber I've owned when it's in. The blade only takes about 10-20 seconds to attach/detach, and makes a cool sound to confirm that it is attached. Additionally, it makes a cool short circuit sound when you try to activate it without the blade. The only minor complaint I have about the hilt is that the activation switch is a little hard to use one-handed.Light and Sound: The blade glows as brightly as any other Force FX model. The blade seems about as bright as my old Master Replica Yoda saber, and is easily visible inside during daylight, I can't speak to how it will looks outside in daylight, however. For the best look though, wait 'til it's dark, go into your living room, close the blinds, and unleash the nerdage! The sound board on this saber is particularly impressive. It's loud without being obnoxious. The sounds are also more varied than any of my previous sabers, and the motion/clash detection is the best of any saber I've owned. All in all, I could not be happier. My only real complaint is that these things didn't exist when I was growing up. Now to make up for lost time! *Runs off laughing and swinging saber wildly*

An awesome collectible
The day I got this lightsaber I was suprised! The order had shipped faster than I thought. I was very exited- it was my first force fx lightsaber. I thought it was great! This saber was all metal at the hilt, and all of the decorations were put on PERFECTLY. The end was just how I wanted it. The grip part was good. There were nice decorations near the on/off switch, and the rubber gave me a good grip. I have to admit, though, the battery case was screwed on tightly. Get an adult to help you with that. The blade had a brilliant green glow. Also, the blade is easy to remove. I LOVE THE SOUND. It has a very loud sound, although some of you might disagree. You have to hit the blade for it to make sound. The belt clip is cheap, but it will hold. Overall, VERY NICE LIGHTSABER!! FIVE STARS!

The blade also has a spot in it where sometimes the LED lights will go dull.
Thought was getting it new but was clearly used with marks on the blade from someone dueling wih it and was missing the belt clasp screw. The blade also has a spot in it where sometimes the LED lights will go dull.

Durable & fun, sound could be a bit better
My 5-year-old daughter has become Star Wars obsessed in the last month and will be dressing as a Jedi for Halloween, so I brightened up her world by telling her I'd dress up as one too. We're going all out, complete with custom-tailored costumes for both of us. Every Jedi needs a lightsaber, so I decided on the Kit Fisto FX Lightsaber rather than the $8 plastic ones I see everywhere. My first impression is that this thing is COOL! Here's a quick breakdown of the pros and cons:PROS:- Solid Construction: This "toy" is built like a tank...even the little knob to turn it on is metal. It is heavy and durable and the blade is solid. I don't know how durable the electronics in it will be, or how long the LEDs in the blade will last, but the outside is as solid as can be.- Bright Blade: Nice bright green blade with an up/down effect when you turn it on/off. In photos it looks totally cool and super bright.- Removable Blade: Blade can be removed by unscrewing the top of the hilt. It comes with a metal insert for the hilt to cover the hole left by the missing blade. Nice touch.- Belt Clip: Comes with a belt clip (though it's cheap plastic) so that you can carry the hilt with you (a must for a costume). The hilt has a Covertec wheel on it that snaps into the clip. Works well and is apparently the same way the characters carried their lightsabers in the movies.- Display Stand: Comes with a display stand that looks pretty good, even though it is cheap plastic. You can configure the stand two different ways, so that you can display it with or without the blade. The stand also has a compartment to store the belt clip and hilt insert.- "Realistic" Sounds: Has "real" lightsaber sounds sampled from the movies. The motion-sensing features work well, sync'ing the sounds with motion and clashing.CONS:- Sound Quality: Although the sounds are accurate, the quality could be better and louder. Clearly the speaker in the hilt is very cheap.- No Sound without Blade: When you remove the blade, sound is not possible. For fun it makes a little short-circuit sound instead. I'd rather have sound all the time.- Diameter of Hilt: Granted, this is a bit subjective, but I think the diameter of the hilt is slightly too big. My guess is that this is a consequence of the size of the blade and electronics. Considering how heavy it is, if you have small hands it might be hard to grip well when swinging it around.- Belt Clip is Cheap: The belt clip is a great addition, but is very cheap plastic. I won't be surprised if the part of it that clips to the belt breaks. I may order an actual Covertec WIPS System - Belt clip instead.- Too big and heavy for little kids: Most people probably wouldn't buy this for a little kid, but if you are considering that, be aware the very little kids (like my 5 year old) are way too little for it. It is heavy, with a big hilt, and the blade is very long. Handing this to a little kid is begging for broken items and injuries. If you want something for a little kid that is similar, the Star Wars Ultimate Anakin FX Lightsaber is a better choice. They are around $35-40, lighter, and the blade is probably 8-10" shorter. No removable blade though. Conclusion:All in all, this is great fun! I have "dueled" with my daughter a dozen times already and had a blast doing it. If you grew up with Star Wars, I challenge you to turn on this lightsaber, swing it around, and not feel like a kid again. I give it four stars. If the sound quality were slightly better or if you could get sound without the blade, that would have bumped it up to 4.5 or 5 stars in my opinion.
