Start with very small doses. This product creates crazy hot flushes. Depending on your sensitivity, you may break out into hives-like splotches on the skin, which will subside after a number of hours. For severe cases, cold showers, drink tonnes of water, splash with chilled chamomile tea. Or just avoid all that and start with minute doses and work your way up until you know your tolerance. I take this for protein synthesis, so it's not immediately apparent if it's working, especially as it's part of my supplement stack. But, as niacin is know to flush, I guessing that it's doing its job.

Prefer the niacin in capsules. Taking one gram of the powder in water is sour. Adding some sugar helps. I liked the capsules that NOW Foods makes. It wouldn't really be possible to hide this in food - you feel the tingling almost immediately when you take it! After opening an unused car during a winter that had mice in it and breathing in the fumes, a week or two later in a matter of minutes a fever combined with chills hit, my heart was pounding, and my organs hurting. I started taking monolaurin and sat in front of the heat wrapped up five hours and over the next couple of days recovered - except for my heart. Six weeks of niacin, pomegranate juice, nattokinase and d-ribose finally did the trick. A few years later, my heart gave out again, disabling, and a toothache that spread. This time acupressure points worked, but as soon as the niacin and nattokinase and serrapeptase arrived, started downing them. Works great. Niacin also seems to be good for those who have bad depression, anxiety, and ADHD type issues, drug problems, and tick bites. It works within minutes, and even though it may give you a scare from the very temporary rash the first few times, it won't hurt you. Is deadly for some bacteria. If someone feels awful and hates everything or everything is impossible, this is worth trying and you'll know within the hour if it will help or not. There is a lot of research to do with mental illnesses referenced in a paper on the Mauve Factor, and a book by William Walsh, PhD.

Try this... The other healthy things I do add which are personal optional choices is BLACKSTRAP Molasses (high in minerals and other nutrients) and drop or two of J.CROW'S Lugol's Solution of Iodine. All this makes your morning coffee far more than just coffee covering a wide spectrum of health areas. Of course you may have your own ideas for needs and extras but the niacin does cause the small blood vessels in your skin to dilate so more blood can rush through bringing this to your system more rapidly. If you read up on niacin, this dilation process also helps flush / remove toxins, improve circulation and health. All these coffee extras can take advantage of that process.

Totally disappointed with Nutricost Niacin Vitamin B3 Powder 250 Grams. Was excited to get it - until - I tried mixing it. Of 1 whole scoop of powder around 1/8th would NOT dissolve even though I was using an electric blender/stir stick. Before blending - and just by merely dumping a scoopful into room temp water - bigger chunks of powder floated on top while smaller powder granules sank to the bottom. Then I blended for a good 30 seconds - then another 30 seconds - and yet - a whole bunch of white powder was still gathered in the middle - at the bottom of the glass. A bit disturbing. What is that stuff? Ran it through a paper coffee filter to strain out all the non-dissolved white powder - which was a LOT!!! Next I called Nutricost (phone number on side of cannister). Call was answered immediately. Explained the problem. Asked why at least 1/8th of the powder would not dissolve even when using an electric stir stick. Here's what I was told (aka - Jump Through Hoops) Nutricost Customer Service: "You need to send Nutricost an email with the Receipt and Pictures attached - along with the Lot Number - then we'll be able to answer your question". I told her I wasn't looking for my money back. Just wanted to know why the powder was not dissolving. She simply repeated herself with what she said above. Got off the phone. Tossed it in the garbage and ordered from another company outside of Amazon who promised me their Niacin (Nicotinic Acid - gives you the Flush) would certainly dissolve without problem, and was also 3rd party tested. Ended up opening an account with them and spent extra money on some of their other supplements as well. My honest opinion. Don't waste your money on Nutricost Niacin UNLESS you don't mind a mouth full of grit from all the non-dissolved powder every time you mix a scoop full. I've also had the same problem of non-dissolving Niacin from Solgar, Bulk Supplements and another place I can't remember. Perhaps they all buy their Niacin from the same supplier. Sorry - but since I haven't received the Niacin from the other company yet which I just ordered from - I can't give a review on it. I have a feeling though, from what that company told me - I will have no problem with their Niacin.

I knew a bit the effect from others, like burning, itchy sensation etc, but hadn't experienced it by myself. I took 1 scoop at the first time, after around 10 minutes, I felt something weird on my neck and my upper arm, I thought I got stroke. I now understand the sensation of flushing. I notice my blood pressure become lower. I notice small white particle that hard to dissolve, I agree with other people opinion. But when I use warm water, the white particle disappear very quick. I prefer to take it before going to bed, I feel warm and can sleep tight.

Be careful of side effects, it caused me a blood in stool and inconvenient feeling
