**Q: Is 1 side hooks & 1 side loops?  I want to keep it permanently attached to 1 side of ladder even when not looped around & holding both sides together**
A: Hi! These straps are actually a combined hook and loop. So one entire side of the strap is the hook and loop combined and the other side is flat. The benefit to the combined hook and loop is that it attaches to itself at any position which allows for more adjust-ability. i hope this helps to answer your question!
