You will basically lose control of the smart switch until unless you are going to operate it from the app all the time. if you follow the said method then you need to keep the rocker switch ON at all times (if someone switches off OFF then the snoff will loose power completely). The workaround for this is to open the switch box disconnect the switch and short both the wires.
