Review: Great locks, super helpful company - We’ve found these locks to be a great option for kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well as furniture. After installing the first couple it was easy and quick to install the others. If you pay attention as you do it they install really well and have zero issues. The three things to make sure you do correctly are place the lock far enough away from any magnetic closures in your drawer or cabinet so that won’t affect it, make sure it’s aligned properly with the height and depth, and prep the surface beforehand (and let it dry completely). We love that our baby can’t pinch his fingers in any doors or drawers’ gaps as he attempts to get them open (and he tries very hard!), and also that the locks can be deactivated when the baby isn’t around. That’s been a really great feature for extended family as well. Grandparents can install them but only activate them when we come to visit, so they don’t have to deal with childproofed kitchen cabinets all the time. The locks removed well without any damage to the cabinets in our rental home when we moved recently, but we didn’t have any issues with them coming off when our baby pulled on the cabinets, even though he’s very strong for his age and size. The company was also extremely quick and helpful when I reached out with an inquiry about replacement adhesive strips for the backs. I was very impressed, especially after some less than helpful interactions with other companies whose products had issues recently. I will continue to recommend these locks from this brand to all my friends and relatives with little ones.

**Q: Why are there screws when it's supposed to be adhesive?**
A: Some brands allow you to screw them in for more sturdy and/or permanent placement. I bought another brand a few years ago that could be screwed in.

**Q: Can i use it to lock valuables from adults? Can an adult open it easily without the magnet? Thanks.**
A: They are not easy to open without the magnetic key. Keep in mind they are attached with a 3m double sided sticky pad, so if any grown man puts down his purse, he should be able to pull them open. If you live with a tweeker, don’t lock their meth up with these.

**Q: Do you think these could work on metal filing cabinets?**
A: Likely not, adhesive notwithstanding.   The magnet's field would be shunted by the metal cabinet if steel.  Like water, magnetic flux takes the path of least resistance, here bypassing the locking device beneath.

We’ve found these locks to be a great option for kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well as furniture. After installing the first couple it was easy and quick to install the others. If you pay attention as you do it they install really well and have zero issues. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does its job, when you can install it

I have had these installed for a few months, and they are good, but not flawless. Installation is, for the most part, straightforward. The included bracket makes sure that the two pieces are aligned and that the "receiving" piece is at the right depth. Unfortunately, this doesn't work everywhere. With two doors, it is usually easy, but if there is a drawer above the doors and no frame in between, you will not be able to install this in the right place. It will have to go on the bottom of the door, which removed some space in your cabinet and makes opening the door more difficult (with the lock near the knob, you can usually open the door with one hand while holding the "key", but this different position needs a two-handed approach). Drawers are difficult, unless you can remove a drawer above to install it. I managed two, but I still haven't found a way to install it for the top drawers. These two are made so that the latch is on the side of the drawer. One of those latches moves incredibly slow with the magnet; I am not sure why. It was not always like this. When installed, they work very well. I gave 24 hours to cure as advised, but I didn't clean as well as they suggested. Even so, the latches have never come off, even with my son's pulling, so they have done their job when I have been able to install them, and I liked not drilling anything.
