A: 40-50lb

**Q: Would you recommend this for carp**
A: I personally was a little disappointed with the rod. Too thick of a shaft. I already had a better one. Put for the price it may be ok

**Q: Is the 12' a 2 piece?**
A: Yes.  It is two 6 foot pieces.

**Q: would this work for steelhead?**
A: I bought mine for sturgeon fishing. I would use a lighter rod for steelhead
