Someone has obviously thought about the practicalities of using it as you can open the zip in two places so you can zip up around your hose and also open the zip in a seperate place to use your window handle to open/close the window. You can easily close your window without having to remove the seal as it just folds up as you close the window although it your that bothered it only attached with velcro so you can remove it if you think it looks bad. Reading reviews for multiple products i did see a regular issue with all these kits which we have encountered which is near the hot air exhaust the sticky parts seem to detach occasionaly but we this only seems to happen if you have it taught and they have always just stuck back on for us at the moment. Whether this works long term.i.e. we can reuse it next year we will have to see but it seems fine at the moment. Are the instructions clear? No. Do you need them? Not really. Stick the tape around the window. Stick the tape around the frame. Attach the material to both - make sure the thickest bit of material is in the middle of the widest gap. Undo the zip, stick the pipe through and do up the zip, use the cable clips to keep it done up. You can’t cut due to the zip attached all the way. **Q: Will it fit my windows that are 51cm across & 80cm length** A: Most of these nylon seals are "universal" you are not likely to get the photo type fit shown on PR materials,but you get an acceptable seal,I chose not to cut off excess material, the product fitted is functional rather than pretty.I achieved a room temp of 16 degrees using one so it does make a good seal.Cant recall the exact size of the one I used, while ago now. **Q: What comes out of the tube? Can I just connect it to a bucket?** A: Hot air comes out of tube out of the window.if water comes out anywhere else it must be an dehumidifier mode. You can use a wee bucket but I have not had any water when using ac machine on dehumidifier on machine would let water come ou bottom hose connection. I would weekly make sure you have no water in machine by putting at angle and opening up valves.
