This is my third purchase of this album having had it on cassette and as an iTunes download as a mp3. I have always loved Paul Simon and this album is one of his best. Classic Simon, his first solo album after splitting with Garfunkel. Timeless tunes and irresistible rhythms. Perceptive social commentary interwoven with personal hopes and fears. Little wonder six singles were released from this 1973 offering, ranging from the languid Take to the Mardi Gras to the sharply observant American Tune. Songwriting and production at its best.
