The large flap shields against water getting out of the shower and is intended to swing outwards only. That flap will wear out and shear off of you try to pull the door inwards past that point. **Q: Is the fin/flap soft? Will this work on the opening side of the door? So the flap/fin would be hitting the wall when opening and closing.** A: Yes, the flap guard is pliable. This is not a bottom door seal; it is for the side of the door. The bottom door seal has a different type of “sweep” to keep the water off the threshhold.
