I noted that the toe box was very VERY tight but was assured that it would losen out and mould with my feet. It did not. I ended up with black toenails that are just now ready to fall off. I was keen not to repeat this when hiking again, and researched options for wider feet. I am a size 10, small person with slightly wider feet and my toes like some space. Keen hiking boots are perfect for me. They allow my toes to splay out comfortably. They are heavy enough on the foot and overall feel like a pretty big fit. I take a size 5 UK. I wear 5.5 in trainers and I ordered 5.5 in these - they were HUGE. I returned them as they had been previously used and I will re-order in the size 5. I also liked the look of the more urban shoe but was hesitant about ordering it as it had fewer reviews. Review: Nice wide fit boots - These boots are nice and wide at the toe box. So if like me you have bunions or need orthotics, they are ideal. I usually take a size 5.5 and even with thick socks the 5.5 were plenty big enough. I've hiked through thick mud and wet grass and so far they've been waterproof. The ankle cuffs are quite stiff and took a bit of breaking in, but otherwise these boots have been very comfy and seem pretty good value for money compared to other brands. Your toes will look like prunes and you’ll want to put these in the bin and not waste another moment on them. They are comfortable from the 1st wear and no breaking in required. They are a wide fit with a good sized toe box. They are not the best for 100% waterproofness but I continue to buy for comfort. I do clean them with a reputable boot cleaner and reproofing product on a regular basis. However, my latest pair are Not waterproof at all. I have just done an hours pavement walk in the rain and my feet were absolutely soaking wet after about 40mins. I literally wrang my soaks out and poured the water out of the boots when I got home.
