Just dip your tools once in the coating. I dipped mine a second time and the tip of my pliers wouldn't touch. If plier tips can't touch, they can't hold the pieces you're working with. Fortunately. it peeled off with a little rubbing. I just redipped them, only once this time, and they work great. Coating has 3 hr. or preferably overnite drying time.
