These small alkaline batteries are used in a variety of devices such as garage door openers, key fobs, doorbells, and small remote controls, and the Energizer A23s have worked flawlessly in every application I've used them for. The popular brand companies use the A23 designator and off brand companies use the AE23 designator. Hope this helps **Q: is a23 battery the same as 23a** A: is a23 battery the same as 23a **Q: Nothing on the Amazon page or image says it's alkaline. Where does it indicate that it's alkaline?** A: if you llok close up on the battery its says alkaline on it. you may not see it in this picture, but if you look at other A 23 energizer picture you will see it. **Q: what's the difference between the 23a and 27a batteries?** A: Google this " List_of_battery_sizes " (where I got answer). The A23 is 2/100 of longer" and 9/100" wider. So a 27a should fit where a 23a does fits in most cases, but not necessary the other way round. Both are 12V DC so no harm to a device if either battery fits and works in your device. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable Replacement Batteries for Remotes and Keyless Entry Systems *by K***E on October 7, 2026* These Energizer A23 batteries have performed exactly as expected and are a dependable choice for garage door openers, keyless entry remotes, and other small electronic devices. I purchased them for some of the smaller devices around the house that use this less common battery size, and they worked perfectly right out of the package. These are especially useful for things like garage door openers, keyless entry remotes, security devices, and other small electronics. I like buying the two-pack because I can replace the battery I need and still have a spare available instead of having to order another one later. The battery fit properly, provided strong power, and restored my device back to working as it should. With something like a garage door or security remote, reliability is important, so I prefer sticking with a recognizable battery brand rather than saving a little money on an unknown alternative. Overall, these Energizer A23 batteries do exactly what I need them to do. They’re reliable, convenient to keep on hand, and the two-pack gives me a spare when the next device needs one. I would definitely purchase them again. ## Frequently Bought Together - Energizer A23 Batteries, A23 Battery Alkaline, 2 Count - Duracell 2032 Lithium Battery. 4 Count Pack. Child Safety Features.
