I wouldn't have chosen it myself, but it's here, and it is a good set up. I just needed an AIS. I wanted a transceiver, so family can keep track of my sailing adventures via Marine Traffic, etc. I also wanted it to integrate seemlessly with my existing set up. I could've went with the Raymarine 650 and saved a couple hundred dollars, but I AM GLAD I DIDN'T!!! This thing is amazing! I"m in Ventura, CA and it picks up ships over 100 miles away!I know much of this has to do with my 65' mast and the ships it's picking up are much bigger, indeed. But this integrated seamlessly and does it's job better than I expected. Great job, Raymarine.
