Works for Me
I have a deep burn in my wrist from my dad's oven - it's an old-fashioned oven and it has a sharp metal lip at the top that overhangs about half an inch. I was baking and when I went to pull out the pan, my wrist touched this top metal lip, and, as is the common reaction, I pulled up and away, which pushed my wrist even further into the hot metal. It was a third degree burn and I was worried it wouldn't ever heal. This was almost a year ago. I tried treating it with ScarZone, a white cream with green tea. It didn't do anything, so I tried a clear Mederma gel that relies on onion extract and aloe. It seems to help a tiny bit, but it was barely noticeable. The wound had in fact already healed, but there was raised scar tissue and lots of redness that wouldn't go away. My next thought was to use an organic acid to eat away the scar tissue, which was somewhat successful. I used an alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid, at maximum concentration, 70%, and it hurt quite a bit, but I was able to flatten everything out and let it reheal. The glycolic acid listing is below. (1 oz / 30 ml) GLYCOLIC Acid 70% Skin Chemical Peel - Unbuffered - Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) For Acne, Oily Skin, Wrinkles, Blackheads, Large Pores & More (from Skin Beauty Solutions) However, the red discoloration was still there and the scar tissue still came back a little bit, so I decided I'd have to get steroid injections or something similar at a local skin care center in Maine where I had had laser hair removal done on my face. I started doing some research and found that even medical offices recommend silicone gel and silicone patches. From anecdotal accounts and some limited medical research, I found that silicone patches are the gold standard for scar healing, and are often more effective than professional steroid injections or other cosmetic work, so I found these ScarAway patches. I've been using the ScarAway patches for a couple weeks now and there is already very apparent change. The redness around the edges of the scar has receded quite a bit and the scar has flattened out more (still a little raised) and feels softer. The kit comes with enough patches to last 12 weeks (3 months) in which one patch is supposed to last for one week. The patches are fairly large so I cut them in half because my scar is a little smaller than the size of a quarter coin. I had read some other reviews and the most common complaint was that they didn't stick well enough. I have had an overall good experience with the stickiness, however. The patches are not sticky like a band-aid, they're sticky like a lint roller. That said, I find that mine stays on quite well, especially considering I have it on my wrist. It is easy to peel away and does not cause any pain when peeling it away. The number one reason why it "loses" stickiness is because particles of cloth or hair will get stuck to the underside edges, but this is easily remedied with washing with water. It's pretty easy - just put it under the tap and gently rub the particles off. They come off fairly easy, but you will need to wash the patch at least once a day. My patch was coming off when I slept, so I put an exercise wristband over it and that kept it on at night. I usually wash the patch when I'm in the shower. The sticky side is somewhat like a solid gel, if that makes any sense. I've been replacing my patch about every 3-5 days. Washing it doesn't seem to reduce the stickiness at all. Washing it will make it MORE sticky because it removes any particles that have gotten under the patch edges. I'm hoping the scar will be almost entirely diminished in a couple months. If not, I may treat it again, very superficially, with the glycolic acid and continue with a acid peel / rehealing process.

I LOVE THESE!!!
After I had my thyroid removed, since the scar was in such a visible area, I wanted to use a scar treatment to help the scar go away quicker. I tried several other scar treatments (gels, creams, etc.), but this one was my favorite. The gels/creams that I tried would say that they would dry on the skin a few minutes after application, but in my opinion, the skin always stayed a little "tacky" afterwards. So these silicone sheets were great. First of all, due to the size of my scar, I was able to cut these sheets horizontally and get 2 uses out of one sheet. The adhesive held great, and I wasn't left with a sticky feeling like with the gels/creams. After daily use and washing, the adhesive is going to lose it's ability to adhere well after a few weeks. But I also bought some cloth surgical tape (3M Medipore H Soft Cloth Surgical Tape - 2" wide). So for example, during the day if I was out and about, I would use a newer sheet that adhered well. The color of the sheet is a beige skin tone, so it wasn't very noticeable. But then at night when I was at home or in bed, I would use one of the sheets that had lots it's adhesive quality, and I would put a little strip of the cloth tape over it to hold it down. Now just FYI, if you sweat a lot, then these silicone sheets WILL slide off. They have to be used on clean dry skin. So if sweating is a problem for you, then you'll either need to look at one of the gel/cream options, or you'll need to use these sheets with some surgical tape. These silicone sheets just do not like sweaty skin. Scars don't go away overnight though. I used them daily (pretty much 24/7) for 6 months after my thyroid was removed, and I was very happy with the results. And I've continued to use them for another 6 months (mainly at night). So after a year of use, the scar is in great shape. The redness is gone, and it's mostly flattened out with the skin around it. I'd like to say that the scar has completely disappeared, but I'm not sure scars ever go away completely. But unless I bring it's attention to someone, it's pretty much not noticeable until I point it out to somebody. So these silicone sheets are GREAT in my opinion. They're comfortable, they're not messy, and they work!

Very sticky
My doctor recommended these silicone sheets to help minimize a scar after surgery, and I’m really glad I gave them a try. The sheets are quite large, which I found really convenient because I could cut them to the exact size I needed. Even though my scar isn’t in a visible spot, I still wanted to improve its appearance, and for the time I used these, I definitely saw a difference. The texture of my scar became much smoother, flatter, and overall less noticeable. I didn’t use them as consistently as someone with a more exposed scar might, but even with occasional use, I saw results. I can only imagine how much more effective they would be with regular application. The adhesive worked well for me—it stayed in place without irritating my skin, which I appreciated. I also liked that the material felt soft and flexible, so it was comfortable to wear, even for longer periods. The only downside I found is that if the sheet accidentally folds onto itself and the sticky sides touch, it’s impossible to just pull them apart and straighten it back out and reapply. You really have to wash it to reactivate the adhesive, which can be a little annoying if it happens when you're in a hurry. That said, the adhesive does last a long time with proper care, so as long as I handled the sheets carefully, it wasn’t a huge issue.

BUY THIS PRODUCT if you have scars you want to disapear...
DO NOT hesitate to BUY THIS PRODUCT! And it will work quicker and better if you.... First let me start by telling how and why this product has worked amazingly for me. And note I have waited 9 weeks before posting to see how it was working. 1. The instructions say leave on a minimum of 12 hours...if you follow this you are just doubling your healing time. I leave mine on for 24 hours. 2. What you need to do is have 2 sets revolving at once. So when I have a shower in the morning I put a set of ScarAway's on my scar, I wear all day and night (check to make sure still secure against the skin every once in awhile)...the next morning I wash the one set that was on, and put on the other set that were drying from the previous mornings wash. REPEAT DAILY. 3. Don't be cheap, if you want good results, and a quicker healing time. I originally wanted to see how long I could get the sheets to last, BUT if they are not as sticky and are tending to fall off, you are not getting the proper adhesion, therefore the healing isn't happening to its fullest. I have 2 sets revolving, and each set of sheets I use I will have in place for 2 weeks each. So because I am revolving sets I get 4 weeks worth from when opened (hope this makes sense). NOW the proof for me: 1. I had a mole removed over 1 year ago, this spot was actually indented, and alot darker than the rest of my skin. In 9 weeks it is now completely flat, no indents...its like it had regrowth. And the color is almost the same as the rest of my skin. Where it was noticeable when I looked from afar in the mirror, I can barley see it now. 2. BIGGEST PROOF: I have had 2 adomnoplasty's (tummy tucks) within 1 year, muscles came undone the first time. The first procedure I never used any scar repair, my doctor said it was not necessary - boy, was he wrong...he obviously never saw what ScarAway can do. The first time I heeled nice, but it took 12 months (Scar was also only 7 inches, like a C-section scar - 2nd surgery scar went to my hip bones.) Now my second surgery, I had a few things going on that were different, I started using 5 weeks after surgery: 1) The scar was itchy - using Scaraway stopped that immediately 2) My scar was raised more - the raised part went down and was almost completely flat within 7 days of using ScarAway. 3) This scar was alot more purple and thicker looking then my last...But last night I almost jumped for joy when I noticed the scars on the edges were already looking like a very fine, white pencil line. (Now I did have a great surgeon, who cut a good, straight incision to begin with - but it was still purple, thick and raised) 4) Also the nude color looks great against the skin, so nice if my scar bugged me in the future I would wear Scaraway just to conceal it. 5) Scar feels protected SO REMEMBER IF YOU WANT FAST, SUPER RESULTS - WEAR FOR 24 HOURS, SHOWER, WASH, AND THEN REPLACE WITH CLEAN SCARAWAY'S! Also try the longer than 12 suggested weeks...I am only at 9 weeks, but I will wear for 6 months, or if the scar is barely noticeable, whatever comes sooner. Either way you cant go wrong if you subscribe on Amazon for the auto-delivery (and you save a few bucks). Remember 24 HOURS, not the suggest 12 hours!!!

Not good for face scars!!
I have to give this product 3 stars, though it really deserves 2 and here's why: I bought this product to use on a scar on my face. I have a new (2 month old) scar on my chin / jaw line that is about 3 cm long. Originally, I would use this in combination with the Kelo-cote silicone gel. During the day when I go out I would put on the kelo-cote gel and would use the Scar-Away gel sheets at night or when I am home alone. I have been doing this combination for a month now and have not seen any results in my scar. I had to stop wearing the Scar-Away sheets because they are impossible to stick to your face / chin (even with tape). After reading other reviews and seeing that the sheets fall off / lose their adhesiveness, I figured tape would solve this problem, but these sheets are uncomfortable to wear on your face / chin due to sweat and just the sensitiveness of facial skin and are really distracting to wear. (I have sensitive skin so the paper tape I used would either irritate it or would fall off). BUT I do have some good news about this product...Because it wasn't sticking/comfortable to wear on my chin, I used them on two 10-year-old hypertrophic scars on my arm (bicep). Within a week, these scars showed improvement. They are noticeably flatter and even less red than they already were. I am surprised by these results because I have already used several different silicone sheets and laser surgery and cortisone shots on these scars and didn't expect any further improvement. They are comfortable to wear on my arm and I don't notice them. So, I would recommend Scar Away silicone sheets for most scars, but would not recommend them for facial scars. They are uncomfortable to wear on your face and they did not seem to work on my chin. I wish they would come out with a more comfortable/practical solution for facial scars...I will continue to wear these on my chin with tape and see if there is any improvement after the full 12 weeks. If there is, I will update this review, but for now I am unsatisfied with the results.

Very satisfied
I have been using these strips for almost a year now off and on. I had roughly 10 surgeries on my neck area in the last year, major scarring to my right wrist up to elbow, trach scarring, total neck dissection scars, and long scar from knee to hip. Due to tongue cancer (recurrent and no risk factors) and reconstruction with tissue from other areas to form tongue "flap". After searching for a help with the scars on the internet, drugstores, and asking my plastic surgeon at follow-up, it was apparent that you must use silicone to heal scars. I thought it would be very expensive. To my delight, I came across these strips on Amazon and think the price is reasonable. Most importantly, they work better than I could have hoped for. Friends noticed some improvement after about a week to 10 days without my mentioning anything. After first surgery, scar on wrist really depressed me due to its size, tissue loss, raised red edges, etc. Scar Away helped reduce the redness in a short period of time and the half of scar that was not as wide is almost unnoticeable now. It is smooth, not raised, no redness, and becoming more flesh colored than white in the less affected area. The larger area is almost completely flesh colored now. There is still one side that is raised and red on half of incision line, but it is also where they started (as explained to me by surgeon) and is how these scars are. This area is still 300% overall better, flatter than before Scar Away. The biggest drawback I have is that when it is humid they tend to come off. And I could use much longer, wider strips; but I am more of an extreme case than most. I have never been paid, given free samples from anyone, or contacted in any way by manufacturing company. This is my honest testimony because I want people with similar conditions to feel comfortable spending money on this product. Right now is not the ideal time to spend extra money but husband and I agreed it is money well spent now to avoid worse outcome and cost later. Today I purchased a silicone gel to use also due to number of scars, recommended by skin/plastic surgeon. Hoping it works at least as well as strips as I won't have to worry about them in humidity. Made by same company, all silicone gel, pricey though compared with strips. For smaller scars, strips are the way to go. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

Smoothed out my new scar rather nicely
I had a small mole removed and the scar was an inch long! I was pretty upset about it (it was awful looking) so I decided to try this product and noticed it has made the skin look more normal and has flattened out the scar in only a week or so. I will continue to use it for the full 6 month time period that my Dr. recommended. I cut the strip small, just enough to cover the scarred area and use tape over it to keep it on. I use white bandaging tape that you get in the pharmacy. I have also worn it under a band-aid in daytime so as to not have the look of the white tape (it's on my hand). I then peel the scar strip from the tape/band-aid at the end of the day and reuse it with a new piece of tape and it works great. It does need something to help keep it on. The pads are sticky but I find they rub off easily but I would not fault the product for that. It is still an excellent product and worth using a little tape or band-aid to help keep it on.

Save your money, don't believe all the BS!
I can't believe how people can write good reviews about this product. Are they paid to do so or what?? This product can not work for anyone. I researched the net before I bought this and it seemed to be the best product out there. Now I know that this company must have a lot of money to pay off people to write all these false testimonials. This is the biggest spam, hoax, spoof or whatever you want to call it that I've ever experienced. 1. The sheet wouldn't stay on your skin for more than 12 hours, let alone 23 as it's supposed to. If you wear it for overnight, forget it, it will come off in the first hour of your sleep. 2. You're supposed to wash it before you wear it again. Whether or not you wash it, it would not stay (stick) on your skin again. So, how on Earth are you supposed to wear one for a full week???? It's impossible. You can't. 3. The packaging does not state anywhere what the ingredients are or what the sheet includes or why it's so special. That in itself is suspicious and I'm actually surprised that this day it's not illegal not to have your ingredients shown on the packaging. 4. They're stating that it's used by hospitals and plastic surgeons. Well, I only talked to my hospital (that stitched me up) and I called a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and even though the plastic surgeon heard of the product (only bad things), neither of them was using it. So, don't believe all the b...s... and stay away from this product and spend your money on any other scar treatment, but this one. It's ridiculous how this product DOES NOT work. I am now trying to get my money back.

These worked very well for me - Your milage may vary.
As with any product similar in nature to this, individual results will vary. For me, I did not think this product would work well. I am very fair-skinned and scar easily (even from bug bites, I scar). I had not tried any other scar-removal products, so I can't compare it. I used this product on a scar that was a result of a biopsy (~ 1 inch long scar on dominant forearm). The surgical incision was quite pink and raised when the suture was removed. I used this product as soon as the skin was healed enough, and within a couple of weeks the scar has lightened (almost to the same colour as the surrounding skin) and flattened. The look of the scar has improved significantly in my opinion. I'm unsure if they scar would have healed this well without this product, however I doubt it. I feel this product contributed greatly to the improvement of this scar at a critical phase in scar formation. I plan to use this product on older scars in hopes of producing a similar result. Summary: I do recommend this product, especially for the use of new (healed) surgical scars, even in fair-skinned individuals who scar easily.

It really works.
I used this tape for 6 months daily and it made a difference to flattening my surgery large scar. I keep on using for a further 6 months as I was in the habit and easy to carry on. The difference after a year is highly noticeable.
