Review: Follow instructions carefully, very nice ear plugs - Update 10/25/25 I used the Decibullz earplugs at the pistol range and it performed noticeably better than cheap foam earplugs. Cheap plugs are not enough for me at the pistol range, but the Decibullz alone was suffcient. I would rank the Decibullz at just below cheap plugs with muffs. Decibullz with muffs does an outstanding job of reducing gunfire. I plan on using Decibullz and muffs at the rifle range where local shooter love to use muzzlebrakes. Original review: I was worried about molding these to my ears and whether they would really make a difference compared to traditional foam ear plugs. Turns out that these really deliver what they promise. First, the molding is easy and works perfectly if you follow instructions and watch the video. Start by attaching the plastic ear plug and plastic backing to the mold. Do one ear at a time and keep track of which ear mold is being molded. Check the thermoplastic mold for either a R or L to know the difference. Then heat water to boiling and pour the water into a coffee mug. Place the mold into the mug. Do not put the mold into water that is boiling. Wait 5 minutes. Use a timer. After 5 minutes remove the mold from the mug with a metal spoon and place it onto a plate for 30 seconds to cool. After 30 second put the plug into your ear hole and mold the thermoplastic so that your entire ear conch is covered and sealed. Wait until the mold is hard, about 2 minutes. Repeat for the other ear. If you need maximum hearing protection, remove the plastic plugs and install the rubber ear plugs. I will update this review after I go to the shooting range.

**Q: Can you have normal conversation with these in your ears**
A: I use the radians 2 part silicone plugs for light noise suppression like farm equipment or hammering on an anvil, but they still allow me to hear conversations, etc. Also great for keeping welding sparks out of your ear. 
 However, they are no good for shooting so I look forward to trying this brand. Noisy bar bands are the enemy of my tinnitus so I keep silocone earplugs in my pocket but can still talk to people.

**Q: How are these for musicians? Do they make sound muffled/cloudy or merely less loud?**
A: So far, SO GOOD!This is the sole purpose for my getting these.  I am a musician and I go out to see many shows, so ear protection is a must.  For high frequencies; guitars cymbals, harmonica, horns, they are great.  They allow you to still hear clearly, just more quietly.  I am a bass guitarist, and I must say, my sound is a little muffled.  However, I don't think that can be helped.  Lower frequencies are more difficult to hear.  That is why a good guitar amp is 100 watts and my bass amp is 1000 watts.All in all, I am very happy with these ear pieces and will buy more and use them the rest of my career and life!

**Q: when they are in do they decrease the sound of people talking(with out music on)?**
A: Yes, they do. These don't have sound filters and they will reduce talking loudness. I use mine to muffle loud machines. I can only hear people if they are standing in front of me talking loud.

**Q: What do I do if they get melted together in the boiling water?**
A: Buy new ones. I'd suggest to boil separately. Depending on how much they melted together they may be salvageable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ plugs are easy to mold & insert; but they are not as comfortable as custom molded soft plugs

relatively inexpensive and effective ear plugs for noise attenuation. be aware that the molded plugs are not flexible as my previous custom molded soft plugs were. however i misplaced those and didn't want to spend the time/effort for new custom plugs. the Decibullz are an acceptable alternative so far
