Shine a little light!
If you do all your work in a brightly lit room, you won't have any need for this nifty add-on. But when the room gets dark, and you want to see your keyboard, or a nearby book to its left or right, this handy light will make all the difference. A slender LED light-bar clamps on to the top of your monitor. Touch a button on its cord-mounted power switch, and it turns on. (Other buttons on the switch control brightness and color temperature: warm, cool, or mixed). Voilร , your keyboard or book is illuminated with the color and intensity of light of your choice. And the neat part is that there is no glare on the screen. All the light is aimed downward, away from the screen. The power comes from a USB port of your choosing. (I use one that's built into my surge-protector, but if you've got a spare on your PC, you may use that instead.) So no batteries or wall current are required. The unit is well-made and cleverly designed. It is also easy to install, once you figure out that the connection between the two parts of the device (the clamp that holds the light-bar and the part that sits behind the monitor) is spring-loaded. You just pull them apart, allow the gap between them to settle on the top of the monitor, and release. The unit thus automatically fits itself to the monitor, no matter the exact thickness of the flat screen, and a sticky pad helps the unit to stay securely in place on the back of the monitor. Unfortunately, the printed instructions that come with the device make no mention of this spring-loaded feature, so unless you stumble across it, as I did, you may find the installation frustrating. (I hope that Lofter comes up with a new set of instructions that make this clearer.) Once it's installed, you can forget about it. It just sits there unobtrusively, ready to be turned on when you need it. All in all, it's a very well made and very handy product, that will enable you to work conveniently at night without requiring the use of any room lights. So it's both cool (in both senses!) and energy-efficient.

Cannot be over-stated - best accessory in a long time
I have lights. LEDs everywhere; keyboard, network switch, USB hubs, LED panels. Even my ultrawide monitor splashes a ton of light. But *this* light. This light is the best of them for its purpose. The LFOTer light sits easily on top of my ultrawide (AOC 34" curved). I was concerned about the width being too small in proportion the monitor, and that the screen is curved and the light is not. The curve is no problem as the light's width just stays within the boundaries of that curve without crossing the plane of the screen. The rear of the light - the weighted piece that sits behind the screen plane - has a sticky rubber on it and holds position very well against the back of your screen. With today's edge-to-edge screens, you'll want to be careful with applying pressure, but the clip on this light does not unduly squeeze the display. It's clean and elegant. It *will* take a USB slot for power, but throw it into a power bank and save your computer's hubs. The settings you configure for the light (light level, white balance) are saved for as long as you keep it connected to power. Downside? There are detents in the light's directional mechanism that prevent you from infinite adjustability. I'd rather it be infinitely adjustable, but the detents actually work out fine. In its full downward position, it casts a lovely light onto my desktop. In fact, I can swing it up and slightly to the rear where it projects onto my angled ceiling in my loft space that creates a fantastic bounce light off the white ceiling. I indicated this was a great value for the money. Honesty, I don't remember what it cost because I love it so much.

Updated Review/ Way Better Than A Desk Lamp!
Update: At the beginning, this was a really good desk lamp for my monitor. 2 months later, the lamp part wonโt hold and falls to the original position, this makes doing any desk work more difficult since I have to hunch forward to see anything. I try to set it to a higher position but it wonโt hold. There are modern desk lamps that are sleeker and takes up less space, but I wanted something else. I saw this lamp on a subreddit for gaming setups, at first I thought it was very neat but kind of pricey. I only ever owned a desk lamp, that took up too much space and looked ugly, the same one from the Pixar intro. I removed it from my desk for a while now and relied on the sunlight to light up my room during the day. I really don't like to turn on the ceiling light when I am at my desk doing work. The initial price for this lamp was a bit too much, in terms of desk lamps, but I figured it would be worth it in the end. I was right. It arrived today and I spent some time trying to rightfully configure it to my liking. The lamp is indeed sleek and out of the way. The light does not interfere with the picture quality of my screen, and the brightness control is very cool. It can get really bright! I've only had this for the past 2 hours but I can honestly say this desk lamp may be worthwhile if you are looking for something sleek and adjustable to your preference.

Excellent quality; stylish look, good lighting, no screen glare
Even though this seems a little pricey for something that is, essentially, simply a nice light, this is a VERY nice light. Excellent quality, stylish and unobtrusive, and does exactly what it promises. Lights desk area perfectly and pleasantly while causing no glare on the screens. Small switch built into USB cord controls on/off, three different lighting "colors" - warm light, bluish white light and a very bright white light - and ten different brightness levels for each. For me, the warmest light, at its lowest brightness, is perfect for my everyday working needs, but it's great to know there's a LOT of additional brightness and clarity available if you need it, to read something tiny, etc. One minor caveat- I have an old Dell monitor which slopes at the top of the back, thicker than most modern monitors. Luckily the designers thought of this possibility, so the light's clip has some adhesive to cling to the sloping back of the monitor. This works fine, though still not as secure as it would be on a thinner monitor. I imagine it could easily be knocked off, though it has nicely stayed where I put it during the first few weeks of use. No problem at all, of course, on a thinner monitor. Overall really great quality; functions perfectly.

Good no-nonsense light to have, even during the DAY!
Review: - Setup was super easy (2 min?), though I did have to check the instructions just to make sure I was sliding the light into the holder correctly. The mount looks a little funny, but it clasps onto my secondary screen with no problems. Not worried at all that it'll fall off. (I have a Facebook Portal TV and I am more worried about that falling off. But it also has 2 heavier cables attached to it.) - Nice sleek aluminum design and the light doesn't get into your eyes. Looks like a light you'd find at the library quiet study area. - You can change the brightness of the light on the "remote" that's connected in the power cable. GREAT! - There's also 3 color hues to also choose from--so you can choose the warmer light if it's late and you need to sleep soon. (Better to remove the blue tint before bedtime, I've read.) I use white during the day, and the warmer/deeper yellow at night. So for the price, this does feel a tiny bit on the pricey side. That said, it helps out tremendously. Rather than having the ceiling light still cast a shadow on my keyboard, everything is more "visible". At night: even during a zoom call it helps to illuminate my face, bc, once again my ceiling light doesn't help at all. This light will help the camera to auto adjust to pick up my face a lot better than in the past, where I was just a dark silhouette.

Best Desk Lighting Yet
The monitor light is super easy to attach to the monitor and USB power means no hassle with charging batteries. The light can adjust to be very bright but my preference is at the lowest two settings that provide plenty of illumination on my keyboard, track pad, and surrounding desktop. There are three light warmth settings that make it easy to adjust to your setting - I preferred the natural setting. Now that I have these preferences set they are likely to remain there. They are perfect for my needs. Improved lighting on me during virtual conferencing is a bonus. Prior to installing this light, I had problems using virtual backgrounds. It turns out it was just a lighting problem. Now, with the Belofter computer monitor light, my face and upper body are lit well enough for the virtual background software to make clear distinctions between me and the background. Virtual backgrounds look great. This is a simple, effective and convenient light that is out of the way and the targeted lighting of my immediate desktop is wonderful. I recommend this light!

Excellent and Unique Computer Monitor Light
I have owned several lights for my computer. Most of them were big and bulky and created glare on my monitor. This monitor light is very different. First of all, it easily clips on the top of my monitor screen and is barely noticeable. Connecting to the computer through USB for power is also a big plus for me. The light produced is excellent and the different color temperatures and intensities make using the light at different times of the day or night very efficient. Glare is almost non-existent. The light produced is great and covers my desk area well. The switch for the light is integrated into the cord. My only recommendation would be to include a piece of double sided tape so you would have the option to attach the switch to either the side of the monitor or the monitor stand. I highly recommend this unit. It is well made and performs very well! I own several other products from this company, and have always been pleased with the quality of theIr products and their customer service.

Works on a large LG monitor with some modifications
The light this puts out is great, but you're going to have some trouble with larger or thicker monitors. I have an ultrawide LG monitor which is a bit thick, and then also has a circle that bumps out on the back. This causes the light to pitch forward and the front lip to dig into the top of the screen. Not good! Well, I liked the light a good bit otherwise, so I decided to see what I could do about it. If you peel back the adhesive, you'll see four screws. Remove these, and you can pull off the compartment that holds the weight. There are four more screws under there that lets you access the tracks that the bracket slide on and the spring that makes them squeeze. Remove the spring! This does a couple of things. First, it lets the bracket extend out just a few critical mm more. It takes the tension off the front lip so it's not digging into the screen. And it also lets the bracket hinge just a bit. Now it just sets up on my monitor with the weight counterbalancing it. Seems like it should work pretty well, as long as I don't move my monitor around too much. So, minus one star for modifications, and minus one star because the end result isn't quite perfect. But the amount of light and where it directs it is just right.
