I would imagine it would work as well with any size tablet. It would work with a mobile phone but would be "overkill"; however if you wanted a large stand for your phone it would do the job. The stand is attractive, sturdy, and versatile. In landscape mode there are five viewing angles, but only one angle in portrait mode. However, the size of your tablet or phone will determine how many of those angles are useable. The size of my iPad Pro limits me to three useable angles in portrait mode, which works fine for me. A regular size tablet, or iPad Mini, would likely add an additional useable angle. It comes with two bamboo panels. One panel is small, one edge coming with raised stop (?), the other edge with nothing. The other panel is big with several slots. I first inserted the wrong end of the small panel into the big panel, and set up the resulting stand on the table. Then it wouldn't stand. The raised edge of the smaller panel should be inserted from front to the end, not the other way around. It literally didn't take even a minute to figure that out. It beautifully holds the biggest iPad Pro for hours with no issue while teaching with the iPad Pro. It's super easy to carry it around (although a bit thick), super safe with no sharp edges, absolutely zero strength or dexterity required to set it up.
