Most low-end machines run Windows 10 S -- basically a crippled version of Windows 10 -- which only allows you to install programs from the Microsoft Store, and only allows you to use the Microsoft Edge browser. But Windows 10 Home lets you install whatever software your heart desires (so long as the machine can handle it).The magnetic cover doubles as a keyboard and prop stand. The keys are spaced comfortably enough to allow for speedy typing once you get used to the compact layout.The 11.6" display area is full HD (1920 x 1080), and is remarkably bright and sharp. You'll probably want to use one of Windows' display zoom settings to avoid having to squint at icons that are about 1/4" tall. A USB-C to HDMI adapter is provided, presumably to connect this computer to a larger monitor. I haven't tried it.Speakers: about the best you can say for them is that they are present. To me, they sound like little pieces of tin foil with wires soldered to them. Headphones will give you markedly better sound quality, but let's just say if you want to listen to music at your desk, stick to your smartphone or full-size laptop computer.The dual-core 1.1 GHz Celeron CPU can feel a bit poky at times, so be patient and give the machine an extra few seconds after you click something before you re-click thinking it didn't take. :-)Likewise, the 4 GB RAM is the rock-bottom amount I'd consider running Windows 10 on. And the main storage (drive C:) is tight at 32 GB -- it's just enough to contain the OS plus a few applications -- but being solid state memory, it should be less prone to failure from impact shocks than a hard drive.And you can easily expand the machine's onboard storage capacity by inserting a 64GB or larger microSD card in the provided slot. Format the card to NTFS, and it becomes your drive D:. Then you can configure Windows to install most programs onto that drive so as not to clutter up C:.I wouldn't try to tax this thing by running development or graphics tools on it. Stick to web-based tools, or drive-based tools that don't require a lot of bloated frameworks hanging off of them. For instance, Notepad++ runs fine, but the computer balked at running Visual Studio Code -- its required components chewed up too much space on drive C: and couldn't be installed on D:. (** UPDATE ** The portable version of VS Code can be installed on Drive D:, and it runs just fine, if a little bit slow.)The free office suite WPS Office also runs without problem on the Nuvision. I'm sure Microsoft Office would fare just as well. And Cygwin runs well from drive D:, but I wouldn't bother with any program that depends on a fast CPU or vast RAM.Now follows a story that will mainly appeal to techies:The machine I received came with Windows 10 version 1809, which worked fine, but I wanted to update it to version 1903. Performing an in-place update to 1903 turned out to be a trial-and-error ordeal. Drive C: didn't have enough space to store the update files, but the micro SD card set to drive D: did. However, when the machine rebooted partway through the update, it refused to recognize drive D: no matter what I tried, so I had to abort the attempt.What eventually worked was to create a bootable Windows 10 1903 installer on a 32 GB USB thumb drive (formatted as NTFS) ... then plug that into the computer via the provided USB to USB-C adapter ... and then run the setup.exe program on the USB drive directly from Windows, like a regular setup program.Taking this route, the USB thumb drive had enough free space for the 10 GB of files the in-place update needed to offload, and Windows recognized the thumb drive without problem when it needed to reboot.Be warned, though: the update took hours upon hours, so you'll need to be patient. You'll be tempted to think the update process is stuck, but just wait it out. Eventually it will move off of "0% complete" and into double-digit percentages.Despite the low-end hardware, I was impressed that this little machine could actually handle a major update like that at all.Even if you don't care about updating the OS, I've found the Nuvision to be a capable, fully-featured Windows 10 computer that's just perfect when you don't need (or want) to haul around a full-size laptop. ### ⭐ Waste of money -- don't recommend for this particular product from NuVision *by T***U on June 27, 2020* I owned a NuVision 8" tablet for more than 2 years: it works great and I love it. Then I decided to purchase this NuVision 11" tablet a few months ago. Alas, this time is a completely a waste of money: After charging it to full battery, it will stay on for only a few minutes and then suddenly shut down without any signal at all.
