Review: Thin but Durable Poop Pouches - A Lot of Bags for a Great Price - The desertcart Basics Dog Poop Bags with dispenser is a good option if you're looking to get a lot of poop pouches at a reasonable price. The bags are a little thicker than a produce bag, but not quite as thick as most plastic take-out bags. I'm not terribly particular about the thickness of the bags as much as I am concerned about the durability of the bags - I really don't want digested dog snacks on my hand, so as long as I can pick up the goods without actually touching them, I'm happy. The bags I received have, so far, not had any holes, tears, or otherwise compromised bags in the batch. They're unscented, but I don't really care, since when I take my dog for a walk, I usually toss them in the trash bin at the park immediately, so scented bags aren't a necessity. For those who use their own rubbish bins to put the poop packs in, I would probably put the filled bags inside a larger plastic bag, as I don't think these are thick enough to contain the smell. As for the bag dispenser, I initially liked it because it kept the bags conveniently in one place, but I later found that the pill-shaped holder doesn't stay closed effectively - i.e., I lost the bottom half while taking my dog out for a walk one day because it got unscrewed. This was frustrating because I not only lost the holder, but also one roll of bags. It's not a deal-breaker for me, since I used to just tie a few bags to the leash and went back to my old habit, but it would've been nice to have a functioning poop bag holder. **Q: Are these scented or unscented?**
A: Feb 2020: YES they are now Scented. Order a year ago wasn’t. I reordered expecting them to still be unscented (I’m allergic to chemical scents), but nope! They’re now scented, with no notice or update made to the description. VERY UNHAPPY I’m now out $16.

**Q: Are the bags biodegradable?**
A: There is a difference and wording is misleading. These are compostable and not to be confused with biodegradable. Compost requires oxygen and other micros to break down, ASTM D6400. Biodegradable, what you want if not composting, is done in a environments with little to no oxygen, ASTM D5526. There is a huge difference so look for correct cert.

**Q: How thick are these bags?**
A: They are 0.015mm or 0.59ml. The same thickness as the bags at my local dog park. The mm rating is printed on the bag.

**Q: are these bags scented?**
A: One order was unscented, the second was scented.
