I added some dents (used my splitting mull) which was not as easy as you might think. Then added a custom mixed color wash. It’s now perfect! On a side note, my mum was named after the Norse god Tyr; which is pronounced T-Ear. The feminine is Tyra; pronounced T-Ear-Ah, not Tie-Rah. Her name has been used every generation in her family since the Viking Age. The boss is as close to perfect as one could get. Beautiful work and finish. It came nicely packaged with a light coat of grease or light oil. (wash with soap and water before applying any finish). For this particular finish I scuffed the surface with 240 grit sandpaper, one coat of spray KILZ, one coat of a good primer, and two final coats of flat black. For reference, the shield diameter is 24".
