I bought this one based on reviews and supposed to match and fit my old trusty 2003 Lexus ES300. It’s been a “minute” since the last time I installed one of these so watched a youtube video and used a little WD-40 to loosen the up the clamps on the old one before tackling the job. The metal clamps on the old one rusted up a little, but the lube did the trick. It took less than five minutes from start to finish and was pretty easy. Now my hood stays up when fully erected and closes like it’s supposed to. This hood lift support functions as advertised and the cost is worth it. Just make sure to Google for installation instructions on a video posted by an expert if you haven’t done one before. Pretty straightforward but helps to do it correctly the first time. You will need a small flathead screwdriver to pop the clamps from the old one…good luck! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strong push, easy install *by J***N on April 4, 2025* Super easy to pop on (no tools) and seems to have plenty of "oompf" to keep the hood open.
