## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this 16-port patch panel fit the 19" rack mount standard?**
A: Yes it's standard size

**Q: Can i use cat6 utp (un-shielded) cable in the cat6a f/utp (shielded) patch panel? it looks a lot easier to cable manage and punch down.**
A: It appears that you can. Compatible with cat5e, cat6, cat6a, 110 or Krone Type, TC-P24C6AS.  I have not trued it though. I have only used CAT5 cable.

**Q: can i attach cat7?**
A: yes, all cat7, 8, and 9, as well as 6, and 6a, and 5, 5e etc. are mounting protocols for identical hardware.  
If you use cat5e on cat7 cable etc then is will just dowgade the frequency that it operates and not else.

**Q: What is recommended for using the grounding wire?**
A: A known grounded source.  For example the rack, the ground screw on a metal junction box, a bonded wire that goes to a known ground

These are great little self-contained patch panels. They're small, sturdy, and easy to work with. Their small footprint makes them perfect for small IDF cabinets. The enclosure is such that it's often mistaken for a switch by those who are not familiar with IT equipment. I definitely recommend this patch panel for use where space is restricted or in home closets.
