At first I purchased it for a bit if fun after all I am a woman reading a book about unleashing my alpha male. Turns out I really enjoy his style of writing and there is some great information in the book and not just for men.One of my favourite quotes is "Ponder this quote from nutritional and obesity expert Dr. Yoni Freedhoff: “Your real goal? Live the healthiest life you can enjoy, not the healthiest life you can tolerate. Yes, if you have weight to lose, you’ll have to make changes. But if you change so far from who you are and what you enjoy, odds are that it’s not a sustainable plan. Don’t aim for your so-called ‘ideal’ weight; instead aim for what I refer to as your ‘best’ weight, which is the weight you reach when living the healthiest life you can actually enjoy.” I also like the clear distinction between 'exercise' and 'training'. The explanations about important aspects of diet, hormones and training were simple to understand but don't give an avenue to more detailed resources or recommended reading (to get the full picture and to make truly informed decisions you should look further than this book).There seemed to be some glitches with ebook format on my iphone.The downloadable freebies were in line with the book and are useful and honest.I wouldn't say the book or downloadable resources will give you all the answers you are looking for on changing your mindset, lifestyle or for improving your training or diet. It is a good starting point though and is written passionately enough to spark interest and set you on a path to self improvement. If you are able to tap into Mike's knowledge further by enlisting his services as a trainer/coach, I am sure you would get access to more detailed and easy to use information to meet your goals.Thanks for a good read and some interesting tips. I found value in the book even though I am not in the target population. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great book for any man *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2014* I bought this book as I work as a medical professional working with both elite athletes and the general public and I have a particular interest in maximising human performance. The content of this book is therefore highly relevant to what I discuss with my patients and athletes. Men, we need to make a change! I found this book both simple to follow but at the same time packed full of great information. From a medical standpoint I can fully endorse what Mike is getting across as a great method of self improvement, performance enhancement and maximising general health and wellness. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the extent and detail in both the printed and the bonus material. It's very rare to find such a good and detailed training plan and nutritional guide in a book of this type. Some of us won't score to badly when comparing yourself to Mike's alpha but there is literally something for everyone in this book which will make you a better man.
