Excellent set. On most jobs, the left hand bits do the trick (unless the fastener is bottomed out in a blind hole). Just start small and work your way up on SLOW speed. Eventually, a bit will "catch" as it's about to finish the cut and the fastener comes out on the drill bit. The conical spiral extractors are tough, but not unbreakable. Go easy with them.

I haven't used this set much but after I bought a used car that had aftermarket Momo wheels installed I went to service the brakes and found that each of the wheels had a keyed wheel lock on them and nowhere in the car could I find the keyed socket to remove them. I figured I would try using these extractors. It looked like the external bolt extractors (the ones in the left side of the case) might fit over the top of the lock wheel nut. The second to largest just fit (fyi, the other regular lug nuts were 19mm). I tapped it on with a hammer until the top of it was almost flush with the wheel and then inserted a 3/8" extension in the extractor and gave it a few more whacks just to make sure it had a good bite before trying to unscrew it. I used a long 3/8" breaker bar and after a bit of pressure I could feel the nut starting to spin and loosen. Yay! I did this on all four wheels with no issues. This use alone probably saved me as much as I spent on the set not to mention the time and stress it saved.

When your quaking and shaking it’ll save your bacon! Definitely pricey but when you need this set your day is already not going the greatest... the nut extractors have saved me from catastrophe several times. Heat the problem up with a propane torch, use a wrench while tapping on the top of the extractor with a hammer- or better yet use an impact.

I have only had 1 success using this kit. There are a couple of things you need to know before using this: 1. You have to drill a hole in the bolt. This can only be done if you have a drill press. You won't have the leverage to make press it in as it spins, I've tried. 2. After making a clean deep hole you'll need to tap the extractor bit hard with a hammer to make it seat and grip the bolt. They don't provide you with a ratchet or ratchet adapter to get a nice grip on the end of the extractor bit (its a square fitting so you can't use a hex socket to fit over it). I used an adjustable wrench and as i started to turn it, the extractor tip broke offin the bolt! There's a right way to do things and a wrong way. I did it the right way, didn't cut any corners, and it didn't work. It has only worked once that I can remember and TBH I had the option of using a differnt means of extracting it anyway so to me this kit is absolutely worthless.

Everything is made in the USA except the drill bits. They are made in Brazil.

I had been watching the price on this for awhile, but it never dropped, I finally bit the bullet and bought it. Very good kit for the quality and price. Irwin has a name out the for being a quality product and so far meets that. The extractors are US made and the bits are made in Brazil. Is it worth the money? I would say definitely yes.
