You could solder wires on to them fine. But you would not have access to a 3/5v power pin. You might be able to solder on to the bottom of a power pin and put the display over that as there is a little wriggle room but the case will not allow for a whole HAT.. You could just use an alternative power supply like a breadboard power supply or if you need 5v you could just pull that from a USB charger. Or you could pair it with a ESP8266 board, something like a NodeMCU but that's hardly a plug and play solution. **Q: Will this work with libreelec or equivalent kodi system?** A: It will work. but it is too small ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great well made kit, easy to put together! *by D***M on 9 May 2019* Fantastic little kit to take your raspberry pi 3 B+ to the next level!I was a little worried that this would be difficult to to build and set up, however with the included tools it was very easy. One thing you will notice straight away is the quality of the case, screen and included extras. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and install the correct drivers and you're good to go!I was impressed with the screen, good viewing angles and great colour saturation. Even with my dodgy eyesight it was easy to read. They even include a stylus to assist with on-screen setup which makes everything much easier. If you're contemplating buying one of these, just do it! You won't be disappointed! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great case; decent screen; slight problem with software *by R***S on 27 April 2019* It's a great little case and went together with the screen easily. The screws to mount the Pi itself would be fiddly but tweezers are provided to hold them, along with the screwdriver itself. One step of the instructions appeared to be missing - there's a spacer that stops the screen wobbling if you stick it to the top of the network socket, but it wasn't mentioned. It all looks great when it's finished.I planned to use this PI with a non-desktop (text only) version of Raspbian running as a server just so I could monitor it, and I found that when I installed the driver per the instructions the screen did not work properly - once it filled with text it got into an odd state where it stopped scrolling and you could no longer see new text. You could see the cursor at various odd places, though. So in the end I installed the Raspbian image they provide for "test" purposes, which has a desktop, and it all worked fine. I just decided to stick with that - all I had to do was expand the image from 8GB so it made full use of my SD card, and I did all the Linux updates. If you start a terminal you can see exactly what was done to set it up in the command-line history!I'm glad I did stick with the desktop - it's turned out to be very useful. The touchscreen is tiny as you'd expect but a stylus is provided and it's quite usable. I have my scripts pop up messages onto the GUI (using zenity), which is handy, and I could configure the wifi from the GUI easily - there's a little on-screen keyboard available so I didn't even need to connect a physical keyboard.I've got two of these now; overall I'm very happy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely little screen and case *by S***E on 2 July 2019* The media could not be loaded.
