The Tempress Bench Seat is the same that we make for our Boat Building Customers. It is made with a light weight corrosion proof aluminum frame back and a heavy duty plastic base. This allows for extreme durability, light weight, and easy installation in a wide variety of configurations. The 48" long bench seat folds with black powder coated hinges, and is covered in 600 denier cordura material, available in your choice of Mossy Oak Break Up or Shadowgrass. The high density foam inside provides perfect support and cushioning for those days when the weather gets rough. Dimensions are 48"L x 19"H x 20"D.

    The description reads a sturdy plastic bottom

I purchased this recently. My plan is to mount it to two pedistals. I was a bit disheartened when I opened the box. The description reads a sturdy plastic bottom. I figured as with most boat seats the base would be hard plastic and equipted with mounting holes. Instead, the bottom is made with a thin flexible, plexiglass like material. To top this, there is no mounting holes.  I would have sent back if I had paid the normal $300 bucks that Amazon wants for it new; however, I purchased this as an Amazon return, (excellent condition) so instead I only paid $100. and got free shipping all the way up to Alaska. For the shipping alone on this size bench seat it would have been $100+. My plan now is to drill some holes and use some glue and mount this to a 2x8 or a piece of plywood.  I gave it three stars for price simply because the other than what I just explained, the actaul set seems nice. Only time will tell, though.
