Review: A game-changer to add more exercise to your day easily.! - This is a game-changer for me, enabling me to add more exercise to my day with minimal effort. It’s very quiet and sturdy and well designed! It really helps me close my exercise circles each day on my Apple Watch, allowing me to read or watch TV while I’m spinning! I did quite a bit of research before I settled on purchasing this elliptical leg exerciser, and it definitely was a great choice Though it is heavy, it can slide easily under a chair when not in use.
Review: Exactly what I needed to keep my blood flowing during the workday! - I have tried under desk pedalers before, but always the cheapest I could find, and none of them ever worked for me (bicycle-style ones make your knees go up too high and hit the underside of the desk, plus the angle is always awkward). I've been having problems with my circulation lately, and although I try to get up and walk around the office once an hour, my job is a desk job and I sit the majority of the day. Compression socks could only do so much for me. This elliptical is great. The large size of the pedals allow me to adjust my seating position without having to move the machine, it's nice and quiet (it makes a very gentle gliding noise, so it's not totally silent, but it's definitely not a volume anyone else is going to notice unless they're really sensitive to sounds), and it's very easy to use. It is a bit larger than I was expecting. I have an L shaped desk and sit in the corner, so it fits diagonally under the desk with no issues, but if I sat against one of the long sides of the desk I think I might have some trouble with it hitting the back of the desk. I also can't use it on anything other than the lowest setting because my chair will slide backwards, but my chair is also less than a month old so the wheels on it do not have a lot of resistance (the machine itself does not budge at all). My desk also has a raised power receptacle beneath it which made the placement a little hard to figure out but I made it work. I am only 5'1" so a taller person may have more trouble with finding a good position for this elliptical. However, if banging your knees on the underside of the desk is a worry, I would say my knees go up no more than half an inch at the highest point while pedaling.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the desk height recomendation (description says only about deskcycle)?**
A: Because of the way the pedals are, you can place your feet higher or lower on them and that lowers your knees (or you can slide it back further). I have fairly long legs and normal desk height was fine for me, in any position.

**Q: Just wondering how this compares to the Cubii any pros or cons?**
A: DeskCycle Ellipse vs Cubii Jr.
Both are the same price, $249
The DeskCycle Ellipse is a new product by 3D Innovations, LLC. It's internal mechanism is the same as the other DeskCycles which have a 4.6 star rating with over 2000 reviews.

The pedal motion is noticeably smoother on the DeskCycle Ellipse because the effective flywheel weight (40 lbs) is higher.

The DeskCycle Ellipse has a wider resistance range. There is considerably more resistance on the higher settings.

DeskCycle display window is larger and displays more functions. It also keeps track of up more than 10 times the time and distance of the Cubii.

The DeskCycle Ellipse comes with a display stand which lets you place the display on your desktop if you choose.

The DeskCycle Ellipse pedals are lower and more forward than the Cubii, which makes it work better with shorter and shallow desks.

The DeskCycle pedals are over 17 inches long. This lets you control the type of pedal motion by where you place your feet.

The DeskCycle has more precision sealed bearings, including 4 sealed bearings on the pedal shafts. No other desk elliptical has sealed bearings on their pedal shafts. Sealed bearings make pedal motion smoother and more quiet.

The DeskCycle includes free web-based activity tracking software.
An iPhone App will be available in March.
An external Bluetooth interface will be available in the Spring. It will work with all previous and existing DeskCycles. The

Cubii is made in China. The DeskCycle is made in Taiwan.

**Q: Do the pedals move without force being applied to them?**
A: On the lowest setting, they pretty much move with no effort at all, so I would have to say yes they move without force being applied to them

**Q: The web-based calculator asks for distance in order to do the calculations, but the Ellipse doesn’t show distance on the display. Ideas?**
A: We simply sit at our desk with our chair and pedal the unit. We have not used any distance measures. Not sure where and why this is referenced.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ DeskCycle Ellipse vs. DeskCycle 2 (I tried the original DeskCycle 2 yrs ago too))
*by D***P on December 22, 2020*

You know the saying, "quality over quantity?" It really shows with this Ellipse model. Please, don't wait any longer and get this one! Why? Oh, still not convinced? You want me to explain further? Ok then, no problem, read up! :) Look, I tried the original DeskCycle in 2018 and it...was okay but I returned it after a day. I purchased the DeskCycle 2 and the Ellipse at the same time and from ease of assembly, and trash/recyclables from packaging, Ellipse is the way to go. The Ellipse requires you to fit the foot board on one side, flip it over, screw, flip back, then do the same to the other foot board. Done. The DeskCycle 2 requires you to assemble both the front and back leg stands as well as the foot pedals onto the machine. You could probably assemble 10 DeskCycle Ellipse models in the time you finish 1 DeskCycle 2. So, yeah, it's easy to assemble. Yeah but it's pricy right? Sure, but remember "QUALITY over quantity?" This is a very smart piece of engineering, thoughtfully planned out without the potential IKEA assembly stress. For quality control, the machine is set to 8, the highest resistance, so be sure to read the instructions thoroughly and crank it down to 1 before trying. Both machines worked great for my chair with wheels, but I'm also not on carpet so maybe it's a different story for that. There's zero noise level from both models. Seriously. You could hypothetically take it to a public library and it wouldn't disturb others - you still might get looks. Again, hypothetical. I have returned the DeskCycle 2 and purchased another Ellipse for myself as the first Ellipse was a gift. If it helps, the person typically favored the recumbent bike at the gym when we used to go, while I preferred the elliptical. We both 100% enjoy the Ellipse more the the DeskCycle 2. You don't have to strap in everytime, as you do with DeskCycle 2. With Ellipse, you just go, and you can adjust your foot placement for motion type! Oh, one more thing, the pedals can be secured if you want to lug it around or use it as a free weight hahaha. This is probably my favorite Amazon purchase of the year.
