Simple and effective
Not a professional, but a regular joe who decided to take on a renovation and replace 6 doors. Since I was doing it myself, I thought this product would help; and IT DID! These metal brackets make it easier to install and align the doors. They are quality, easy to install, and will secure the jam to the studs into time. Makes the install go much faster, and due to the slots for the screw holes minor adjustments can be made easily. I will buy again if I ever install any more doors.

Shimless installation! Work great!
Only idiots use shims! This box came with a free t-shirt that says that! Super comfy too! These are amazing. Easy to use. Speeds up door installations! Door is more secure once installed. Easy to readjust if necessary. Instructions: If high on hinge side, the jamb can be cut or the latch side can be shimmed to ensure the top of the jamb is level. If high on latch side, cut latch the jamb down on the latch side or start with shim under the hinge side. During installation, verify that the top of jamb is level and gap between door and jamb is even. **Assuming a level threshhold.** Step 1 - install 6 brackets with included screws. 1 above top hinge, 1 below bottom hinge. One above middle hinge. Note - dont install in line with hinges. Step 2 - insert door. Level and screw hinge side. I use a laser and go from the top down. (Step 2.5 - verify the top of the jamb is level shim or trim jamb as necessary.) Step 3 - level and screw latch side. Step 4 - bend over tabs on other side of door. I use a hammer and make sure they lay down flat. Step 5 - level and screw hinge side starting from the top down. Step 6 - level and screw latch side from the top down. Note - after installation, if jamb is plumb and level and the gap around the door is uneven, you may need to adjust the hinges by shimming or bending. Check out hinge bending tools on amazon!

Great product, terrible screws
This plus a laser level will turn you into a door-hanging superhero. I hung 6 doors in less than 3 hours using this method. Highly recommended, beats the heck out of using shims. But as others have mentioned, the black drywall screws that come with the kit are absolute trash. Do yourself a favor and buy a pack of legit construction screws instead - it's worth it.

Good Brackets, Bad Screws
I've hung many doors as a DIY kind of guy. Using shims always seemed like a struggle. These brackets make the whole process a lot easier. Way less fighting with getting everything plumb/level/true and also makes minor adjustments easier to get the door to swing perfectly. The only gripe I have is the black drywall screws are garbage. I'd suggest throwing those in the trash and buying some quality cabinet screws that have the flat heads like GRK cabinet screws or something similar like truss head screws. They will pull the brackets flat to the wall easier/better/stronger than drywall screws. I had issues with the drywall screws bowing the brackets and between the screw head and the bracket it caused the door trim to have a gap. Using cabinet/truss screws kept everything flat and the screw head protruded from the wall less. The result was the trim sitting more flush with the wall. Now that change isn't going to fix all problems if your wall is a little wonky. I still ended up with a gap that I'll have to fill, but it reduced the gap by 1/16" which is still significant and might take a tiny annoying hair line gap down to nothing or reduce a big gap a little. Also I broke at least one of the drywall screws during the install and two more just trying to remove them for replacement. Other thing I'll add. I still used shims to make final adjustment. If the door frame has a bit of a bow between the brackets add some shims and a nail or two to straighten that back out. Or to strengthen the hinge side I removed the door/hinge, added some shims behind the hinge and nailed in place (make sure everything is still plumb/level/true one hinge at a time) and then reattached the hinge/door with longer screws through the hinge. That way you are not just relying on bracket as there is a little more connection to the studs. Probably not necessary for interior doors, but I don't like making repairs later. So anyway, yeah I love the brackets, but the drywall screws are garbage. The screws for attaching the brackets to the door frame are adequate as I didn't have any issues there.

Best ever way to hang a door
Had to replace 8 interior prehung doors. These brackets made it a breeze. Easy to install, can be adjusted for out of whack jamb opening and they attach to both sides of the door jamb making for a strong and sturdy attachment. No extra screws thru the hinges needed. Used 7 per door and they will not be moving or need future adjustment. For a weekend warrior DIYer these things are a godsend. These things probably saved me 10 hours of fighting with shims and hinge screws. Can easily hang a door by yourself with these brackets. Will never hang another door without them. A bargain at twice the price.
