Healthy Mouth Dental Chews, Perio Plus Sticks for Dogs, with Probiotics, Spirulina & Zeolites, Breath Freshening, Plaque & Tartar Control, Chicken, 30 Count

Was devastated when we discovered our oldest cat had lost a tooth and then the vet found 2 more teeth with FORLs which had to be surgically removed. Poor guy must have been in so much pain and hid it so well we hadn't a clue. That sent me searching for anything that could possibly save his remaining teeth. After much research and following the suggestions in the book "Veterinarian's Guide to Natural Remedies for Cats," we needed to find ways to keep his teeth clean and tartar free. Unfortunately he's never let us brush his teeth so we had to find another solution and found recommendations for these treats as well as the Vetri-Science Perio-Support. We waited for him to heal from the surgery and then started both products. These treats are a big hit with him and the other 2 cats in our household. They are large and hard which forces them to make an effort to break them apart and chew them which is great for cleaning their teeth. (Greenies were way too small and swallowed whole, which defeated the purpose.) His teeth have stayed clean since the surgery and his breath has greatly improved. One of the younger cats also had a big buildup of tartar on his molars but after only a week, his teeth have become noticeably cleaner. At first he refused to eat the Perio-Support on his food but since starting the treats he's come to love the taste and now eats the Perio-Support gladly. I understand from other reviews that some cats won't like the size and hardness of these treats but ours really love and have greatly benefitted from eating them daily. We're very grateful that these treats are available here on Amazon and will continue purchasing them for our cats for years to come.

These teeth cleaning treats have brewers yeast smell, far not all cats like it, only one of my cats likes brewers yeast, but these treats are too hard like rock and too large, even after I cut it in 8 pieces, she still was not able to eat it because too hard, she gave up. Also better to avoid spirulina, as it might be toxic, it can contain microcystins or heavy metals. I didn't see it contains spirulina when I ordered. Will NOT order again.

Dogs love them

I'm disappointed! I loved these. My dogs loved these. I've been getting them for years and their teeth look amazing. But suddenly they only have chicken flavored and my one dog is allergic to chicken. I had this on Subscribe and Save but just removed it. Now I have to find something else that works as well with no chicken in it. If your dog doesn't turn into an itchy, scratching fool after consuming chicken, these are great!

I appreciate that this product contains healthy ingredients like probiotics, parsley, and spirulina. My small tuxedo kitty LOVES these treats and we have trouble limiting her to the maximum suggested 2 treats per day. She BEGS for them. For reference, tuxedo kitty also enjoys: full fat coconut milk and fresh grass. That said, these treats aren't for everyone. My bigger white kitty sniffs them and then walks away in disgust. For reference, the treat-hating white kitty enjoys cucumbers and nutritional yeast (the tuxedo kitty does NOT like cucumbers or nutritional yeast, so this may help you asses if your cat will enjoy these treats). The treats have a definite cinnamon smell, not a spicy cinnamon smell, but more like a powdery smell. They come in a cute little flower shape and they are bigger than most cat treats. At first, my petite tuxedo kitty had trouble chewing them, but she has adjusted. It can be difficult for her to eat one all in one bite because they are quite large. So usually it takes a few bites to eat it all (which can leave crumbs). I gave these treats 4 stars only because one of my cats hates them. But for my kitty who does like them, she'd probably rate them 6 stars. :D Overall, this is a worthwhile purchase and I recommend trying it out. If your cat doesn't like them, donate the rest to a shelter or neighborhood kitty. Someone will love them.

I have been giving these to my dogs for about a year after suggested by my Vet. Yes - my dogs (from 10# - 70#'s) love them, yes - they have great ingredients. Agree with those that have aggressive chewers - don't last long so not sure of benefit. Our 14# doxywahwah loves them but I have to cut in half length wise cause too many teeth have had to be removed at her dental appointments. Her bad breath has diminished with them. BUT - the product has changed with the last bag I bought. They are shorter @2" vs 3"'s and much harder. Don't ealsily cut in half like they use to. Will not continue with them. I may go back to PlaqueOff by Proden seaweed/kelp powder is main ingredient that I use to use or try the new Oravet. Both dogs have tried and liked the Oravet chews, but they are very expensive.

Theses are not chews they are large and very hard. Cats will not eat them or anything you "try" to crumble them on. They don't like the smell or the taste. Going back to the powder and returning the second bag I bought. Waste of money.

My cat loves these. They seem like they would be too big and hard but he thinks they’re awesome. Each morning he waits for me to give him one when I give the dog his treat. He seems to like the flavor and texture. The smell isn’t strong and I’ve been giving them to him for so long that I barely notice it. There are 60 in the pack and I give one a day so it’s a good deal for the money. The vet recommended them for my cat’s teeth since he’s not a fan of having them brushed. I tried the powder by the same company that you mix in with the food which is supposed to be more effective but it doesn’t seem to agree with his stomach and these don’t cause any problems. His teeth look pretty good. The treats may not be as good as brushing or the powder but they seem to be maintaining the condition his teeth are in now. No complaints here! Both Cyclops and I are totally satisfied!

Good but expensive, would buy it regularly if it was cheaper. My cat actually has to chew these instead of just swallowing it whole. He didn't like them at first but came around and liked them after a week or 2.
