the book is pretty cool.. works great to get circle time started with visuals for young learners.. not as exciting as it could be. i would use familiar songs and other open ended questions to go along with whatever the page was. THE CD....... Thumbs Down!!!!!!! its so boring, sounds old and outdated. not catchy. i should have listened to the reviewers that said the same things but i wanted to hear for myself.. bad idea. so we just sang them in my own way. more fun that way. i wish i could return the cd and get partial credit.. me no likey...

Very good buy I am pleased

I LOVE this circle time chart. The first couple times I didn't know what I thought, but now I love it! I ordered another one that focused on shapes and colors and we have yet to finish the entire thing. Not catchy at all. The kids all love this one and this provides a lot of opportunity for moving and dancing.

I bought this hoping it would help to with circle time. The songs are slow pace and my students don't seem to like it. I wish the music was a little more up beat.

The flip chart is useful for chants/songs with class. Children did not enjoy the CD that accompanied the sing-along chart, however. The musical style and quality was not catchy enough to grasp the children's attention. Was very disappointed, considering the set came from a reputable company.

Great idea but unfortunately these singers don't really resinate with kids. If there are any pot smokers who miss the may have missed the original Woodstock.... light one up, close your eyes and your as good as there. These singers are terrible.

I bought it despite bad reviews, and am so glad I did! The book is well made; thick; good, sturdy pages that will last as kids handle them. The pages are large (about the height of a 3 year old), thick, and also shiny. I find the variety and number of songs to be excellent. Just flipping through it gave me lots of teaching ideas. (At the back of the book, scholastic provides additional ones for you.) Songs cover the gamut - from sitting in a circle, to celebrating a birthday, cleaning up - to losing a tooth. Lots of important and memorable classroom moments to come! There is nothing like a song to help learn new words and expectations. I have lots of plans for my ESL class with this one and just ordered several others that are similar from the same company.
