I ordered this base, What was not clear is that it is only 1/2 of what you need for a Cal-King mattress. No problem I returned it. As TempurPedic anything rarely ever has a 'deal'. I bought what I needed from a local Brick and Mortar, the shop owner gave me a small incentive and delivered and set it up beautifully. If I am not getting a great 'deal', I would rather support small local business.

This is our first adjustable bed frame, so needless to say we were giggling like little kids the first time playing with the settings. That said, if you're considering an adjustable bed frame already, the Ergo Extend should be high on your list. If you’re shopping for one due to medical reasons (back problems, difficulty getting up, surgeries, pregnancy, elevating feet), or just to comfortably watch TV in bed without adjusting a bunch of pillows, pay particular attention to how many “hinges” the frame has and the maximum angle/height so you can get the most range possible. I occasionally suffer from back spasms, so this frame really reduced the pain when trying to sit up in bed during my last flare up.There are several awesome features of the Ergo Extend. It comes with a dim underbed light to make it easier to see when getting up in the middle of the night without disturbing your partner, as well as find things under the bed. Speaking of under the bed, this also comes with USB ports built in, incredible! It comes with a battery backup option as well, so that you can return the bed to a flat position during a power outage. Props to the engineers for including that feature!By far my favorite additional feature is the massaging function. Now let’s be real here, this isn’t a full blown shiatsu or Swedish massage, it’s just a medium vibration/pulsation near the upper back and legs. It does provide some temporary relief/distraction with soreness, but it won’t solve anything. However, I did find it soothing on for some nights with restless muscles. Don’t worry, it comes with an auto shutoff so it’s not rumbling away all night.One key thing to note is that the frame is HEAVY and comes mostly preassembled. While this makes completing the assembly straightforward, it makes transport very difficult. Our delivery guys had a hell of a time getting the queen frame up our narrow staircase. If you’re considering a King or CA King and your house has some sharp turns to the bedroom, I’d look into the split designs for ease of delivery. In addition, since the final assembly begins with the frame upside down, you’ll need a second person to help flip it over. Finally, make sure to check if this fits inside your existing bedframe or allows your headboard to attach, or you may have some tough décor decisions ahead.The frame is supposed to be compatible with all foam, as well as some innerspring and hybrid mattresses. However, our memory foam mattress is a bit stiffer so it does not contour at the downward hinge by the feet. This didn’t seem to impact the comfort for us though.It’s also important to note that if you’re mostly a side or stomach sleeper, you will have this flat most of the time, as any other position could improperly align your spine or neck.There are a few improvements we’d like to see, especially considering such a hefty price tag. Since it’s mostly preassembled and very heavy, it’s difficult to bring up the stairs and around corners. Our delivery team needed to remove it from the box to bring it inside, which exposed the foam/fabric to possible damage from walls and furniture. A smaller cardboard sheet around the top and sides would help protect it during deliveries. Also, we noted that the foam/fabric sides of the frame (stationary half) are not rigid – they will rip off the metal frame if you use it to pull the base while finding a resting place for the bed. I’d recommend either adding a metal flange along the inside of this to prevent accidental damage from users, or some form of grab handles affixed to the frame.We’d also recommend dimming the LED’s inside the remote, as we found them to be really bright in a dark room at night. In addition, I would add a sensor that lights up the remote upon movement, so that you wouldn’t need to press a button before knowing what you were pressing.Finally, we noticed that at certain adjustment angles, the massage pulsators would rattle. This wasn’t ever loud enough to be annoying, but certainly noticeable.

I bought the previous model the tempur ergo premium. First had weld issues, second had motor failures, and the third just completely died with the control board failing. After smelling electrical smoke I unplugged them and had to push incredibly hard to get replacements. One rep was kind enough to handle the matter.Now I have the ergo extend and some points to note. They are made in China, some parts were missing and I’m still waiting and hoping those are correct.They sent their white glove delivery to my house and the guys wreaked Of smoke, dripped sweat on my floor, and dropped a base on my hard wood floor.I’ve contacted the manufacturer about the issue and the manager told me my warranty was void by putting it together myself and should have refused delivery and slept on my couch or floor u til replacements could arrive.I’ve continued to press Corp to contact me and address these things and they still cannot seem to do something as simple as reach out.This is the most expensive bed I’ve bought and I regret this purchase with each payment I make because of the time and exhaustion from dealing with this.The new frame seems better than the old, time will tell, but if I had it to do over is just go with another brand not owned by sealy/postirpedic/sterns and foster as they simply do not care about the customer as evidenced by rude reps, managers who know nothing about what they says (Brandon), and the quality control. Not to mention I had concerns of a fire hazard with the last base.Just know these things before going in. Attached is one of the prices missing from the top of the frame where it runs the cloth underside. Just disappointing that you pay so much for this.Update 8-20-2019: Manufacturer hasn’t shipped missing part for bed base and claims it’s on back order still. Requested them pay for damages from their white glove delivery since replacement bases were handled through them, pay for carpet cleaning, etc. Corporate sends a non replyable email denying and redirecting me back to the delivery company they chose. Both keep giving the run around. Truly, the most expensive product in my bedroom with the worst reliability and even worse customer service.DO NOT BUY!

Extremely disappointed in the Tempurepedic Ergo Extend base. I bought the King split, which comes with two Twin XL bases. The motor was faulty on one of the bases the day it was delivered. A replacement was sent, and the motor was bad on it as well. They finally delivered a third one that works, but this one is higher by about an inch, see picture. Now I have a split king with two uneven bases. I expected better quality for $2,000 each. Whatever happened to Quality Control?

You can feel every movement your partner makes during the night, I bought the split king base with mattress and it is awful. I have not slept in over 2 weeks. Watch return policy because if you are not happy they will not allow any returns of the base system costing the consumer thousands of dollars.
