CAP Barbell 60” Standard Solid Threaded Bar, 1-Inch, Multiple Colors

I just received this bar (regular, 5-foot) and worked out with it today for the first time. I needed a bar to use with my Jari Love DVDs (I highly recommend Jari Love's strength training DVDs). I find that the bar allows me to use heavier weight for all the exercises, and really helps me keep good form. What can I say? It's a bar. It was relatively inexpensive. It has threaded ends and little spin-on spin-off thingys to hold the weights. The bar arrived coated in a sticky machine oil, so I wiped it down with rubbing alcohol and that took care of it. I noticed that it has a roughness to it on the smooth center hand-grip portion, and I could hear it snagging my workout pants as I did rows, but it didn't snag enough to cause visible damage to my workout clothes. Fortunately I don't care if my workout clothes get snagged, but if you do care, be warned - it's not like the bar is ripping my pants, but it might cause them to pill over time. Things I wish I had known when I was shopping for this bar: It's hard to find a straight 5' bar in a sporting goods store, I only found one here on Amazon. The only straight bar I saw in stores was at least 6' long and was over 40 bucks. Everything else was curved. I already have a curved bar, I don't like it. This bar - the 5' long bar, weighs 12 pounds (about 5.5kg) and the spin-on thingys weigh 13 ounces (about 370gm), has 1' of threaded weight space on each end, leaving 3' of hand grip space. I'm not sure what the weight capacity of this bar is, I'm just stregth training for fitness, not body-building, so I probably won't be putting too many plates on the ends! I like this bar, it's great, and the best part about it was I didn't have to drive all over town to buy it!

Firstly, can hardly believe this is sold and delivered by Amazon. Thank you! For my needs, a basic bar. Appreciate the weight of the bar making use without additional weights simple during certain workouts. Easy to add and remove weights. Plus, the bar is set up to keep the weights stable with the small gasket and easy to screw and adjust bolt. Phenomenal price. Super like the textured bar for hand gripping. Absolutely perfect for our needs. Fits idealy with my new weight bench for a home fitness center. This bar does the job super well. The shipping container has hard plastic end caps inside the round made to fit box. One broke. This could be problematic for shipping. For me, didn’t mind at all. This item wouldn’t easily break. Only concerned about someone or other packages getting hurt is why I’m mentioning it for the seller. Highly recommend for anyone with basic bar needs 🏋🏽

I LOVE this barbell! Being only 5ft 7" this has a GREAT grip width for me! I am a bit bummed it only weighs 15lbs BUT it saved me on shipping and I prefer to add the free weights anyway! I love the diamond grip on it as well as the rubber bushings on the collars. It fits perfectly on my bench and doesn't stick out too far or take up much space! There is a decent amount of room to add multiple heavy plates to it. The thinner they are the better but it works on most standard 1" center weights. I love that I can interchange w/my barbbells too! Perfect for starting out my home gym.

I know the title sounds bad but I did purchase this solely for my 5'1" fiance to use. It's been a perfect addition to our weight training. She can now use this bar and I stick to my Olympic 7' (for most lifts), as the Olympic bar was a little too big/bulky for her. We ordered the 5' length version and it works really well with the cement weights that came with a 40lb dumbbell set. My fiance uses the bar for everything from bicep curls to squats and deadlifts. There isn't too much to say other than it's definitely worth the price this is about 50% the cost of what I could find at a local athletic store. Nice chrome finish on the bar too. The only two things that contributed to a 1 star reduction are: 1) The 5ft bar doesn't fit across an Olympic bench (where it rests on the upright posts is on the threaded section that holds the weights, not where you grip). This would have been a plus if it could be used for bench pressing on an Olympic bench to just swap out the bars between the two of us. The 6ft probably would fit so I suppose this was just a compromise in ordering the smaller length 2) The threaded ends are nice and probably standard but it would be really nice to see this come in a pure cylindrical option (without threads) so spring clips could be used to quickly swap out weights. Unscrewing the threaded collars on and off to up the weight between sets or different lifts can be really inconvenient and time consuming TLDR: Great price, good quality. Would buy again.

I bought this on sell for about 17 bucks. I was happy with it since anything wasn't missing when the package got here. But I do think they should put a little more effort in packaging this item. When mine got here it was in its original box (which showed what was in it) but it was covered in tape and the end parts were open. When I opened It saw one of the collars had worked it's way down the end of the bar. Just a little more time and that collar would have been missing. Overall this is a pretty good bar just needs to be packaged with more care so the items dont go missing.

Good quality barbell that adds a decent amount of weight to your lift. I wrap a towel around the middle to rest it on my shoulders for squats. The caps that thread on after the weights are also metal and high quality. There is lots of room on either end for weight plates. My only problem with this was the shipping, as it was just taped on either end of a sturdy cardboard tube. Makes it quite difficult to carry because obviously the tape doesn't hold very well. Otherwise this is exactly what I was expecting and I'm pleased with it.

For the price this bar is a steal. Perfect for a home gym and still good length for wide gripping while lifting.

Bar is exactly as shown and described. Solid bar, not hollow. Knurled grips and threaded ends with reasonably sized knobbed holders. Don't expect the cardboard tube to come undamaged, but the product will be fine. 250lb capacity is more than the average person would ever need.
