This worked perfectly. Stays put while welding holes shut.Weld doesnt stick to the copper.Used many times.Always stayed put unlike other brands that the magnet would fall off after a few welds.Little pricey but definitely does the job it was intended to do.

I use it all the time for welding holes in my autobody shop. Works great.

Definitely great quality, worked as expected! Used it to hold slugs in place to weld 65 holes in the roof of a 65 Dodge Power Wagon and never an issue! Highly recommend!

This product works well for patching holes in sheet metal in confined spaces. It works better than the larger flat plate ones, but not as well as the AGK450 Hole Plug Magnet XL, also available from Amazon. Still, it fits into small areas better.

I've consistently made solid, flat plug welds through the holes left by sheet metal screws, that fused perfectly with both sheets. Been repairing my jeep's floor pan using the VIM plug weld tool for the past 2 welding sessions, and the new welds are a level up in quality. I use my old copper pipe backers in between this one to preserve its nice copper heat sink. The only time it has ever fallen off, is when I forgot to remove it after a weld, and hammered, knocking it loose. The magnet is very strong so watch your fingers! The adjuster screw rocks too, makes backer setup much simpler than before. I was using a floor jack and bucking bar to hold up my backer (duh)

I like the idea. Expensive little tool. Good overall construction except for the cheap plastc knob. Works as advertised and is easy to use. But, I plan to remove the plastic knob assembly and replace it with a metal assembly making the tool a more solid construction.

Worth the money!!! I’ve had several different style magnets over the years and this by far is the most versatile. Holds up to the Heat very well. The magnet is super strong for its size and the copper pad has yet to show signs of fatigue or weakness. Have welded several dozen holes with this and have had no issues. It’s not the 1 magnet for all your needs but it’s definitely gonna tried as such. Having the adjustment for the tension and angle of pad works perfectly, can’t say much more except spend the few extra dollars and buy now.
