Sometimes a standard sized heating pad just isn't the best shape for all needs. If you need to apply heat for neck pain, or jaw pain. this is the best. A hook and loop strap makes it easy to position where needed and keep in place. It's hard to find a heating pad in this shape with these features, and it's great to have this available for when you need it. I originally bought this for TMJ pain, but we've found it useful for lower back also. We think it's safe to use in bed because you have to hold the control lever down for it to work, so there is little danger of it getting too hot if you fall asleep while using it. The soft flannel-like cover comes off for laundering if needed, and I machine washed it /hung to dry and it turned out perfect. The cord is long enough that you don't have to sit close to an electrical outlet to use it. This is the second one of these I purchased. The first one still works perfectly after well over 10 years, and we wanted a second one in case the first one fails, since it's hard to find.

I have been a Thermophore customer for many years, as their products are excellent quality & last a long time (my last one lasted for many years). I have chronic neck & back issues, so this large, well-made, soft heating pad works great for me. It reaches all the areas I need it to, providing soothing heat & comfort. I highly recommend the version with the switch that automatically turns the Thermophore pad off when the switch is no longer held - a safety feature to prevent burns (I've been known to fall asleep while using it!). The sticker price is high, but well-worth the cost for what you get.

I had come across previous review where somebody had said dealing with customer service was a pain and that the item itself was found lacking, but it was only one and I had read through the listing and description and felt comfortable enough to proceed with buying it in case I didn't find the product well and could return it. I receive it and like many said, by the time it warms up enough, it shuts right off. Was told to ease your way up to the highest temperature setting but I have to almost immediately use it because by the time it wound up like I said it was already off. Not only that, it is incredibly uncomfortable to use it around the neck/shoulders! you would think what the display photo it would be manageable but it was not. I'm a petite woman. It felt like it was poking me in the neck and rigid. Fine, I go ahead to issue a return. $6 shipping fee deducted from payment. Weird. Customer service told me that they don't have control over what Amazon says on their listings but I've seen other shops on Amazon be able to explain it there is a return fee in their return policies. Whatever, the product isn't worth keeping so I'd rather return it while losing the $6. I get the refund back after a week or so: Return Shipping Fee Refund Deduction: ($6.01) Restocking Fee Refund Deduction: ($9.80) a $10 restocking fee?!! and customer service didn't find it worth noting in my messages with them about the shipping fee? I even went to Amazon about this and they weren't able to do anything. Lost over 30% of what I paid for to try a poor product and return it. Awful experience. Should have listened to amazon and reddit reviews.

THIS IS ONE OF THE POTENTIAL BEST HEATING PADS THAT I HAVE EVER USED. I WAS WHIMPERING WITH PLEASURE AS THE INTENSE HEAT INFUSED MY BODY WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING IT. I USED IT ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND IT WAS NOT HEATING UP AS QUICKLY ONE DAY AND WHEN IT DID IT SLOWED DOWN AFTER A LITTLE BIT AND IT WAS JUST REALLY WARM. WTF????? I BOUGHT FOUR OF THESE. IT IS THE BEST TO USE AFTER HIKING FOR MILES IN THE WILDERNESS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED ITSELF DAYS AFTERWARDS..... I'M COMPARING THE HEATING PAD SIZES I BOUGHT TO SEE WHICH ONES GENERATE HEAT FASTER AND RETAIN IT FOR AS LONG AS MY FINGER IS ON THE BUTTON. SO FAR, THE MEDIUM SIZE HEATS UP FASTER AND IT'S PRACTICALLY SCALDING. "YUMM" I USE THAT ONE ON UNDER MY LEGS AND IT'S LIKE A SPA TREATMENT ON MY WORN OUT LEGS. IT FEELS SO GOOD. I USE THE LARGE ONES FOR MY NECK AND BACK. THE LARGE ONES SEEM TO TAKE A BIT LONGER TO HEAT UP AS CAN BE EXPECTED AND SLOWLY BUILD UP TO AN INTENSE HEAT. SO DELICIOUS WHAT THE HEAT DOES. MY ONLY LEFTOVER ISSUE IS WITH THE SELLER. I SENT THEM AN EMAIL VIA AMAZON REQUESTING RETURN INFO, AND NEVER GOT A RESPONSE BACK ABOUT RETURNING SOME HEATING PADS I BOUGHT THAT I BOUGHT TOO MANY OF. I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM AND FINALLY I GOT A RESPONSE BACK. MAYBE THEY WERE BUSY, BUT IT WAS IRRITATING. I DECIDED TO KEEP ALL OF THE HEATING PADS I BOUGHT IN THE END. IF YOU DO RETURN THE HEATING PADS, THEY NEED TO BE ""NOT USED"" AND DEPENDING WHAT KIND OF USE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT OUT OF IT, THEY STATE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED A RESTOCKING FEE. JUST A THOUGHT. THESE ARE POTENTIALLY ONE OF THE BEST HEATING PADS. THE BUTTON YOU PRESS IS A GOOD IDEA BECAUSE IT DOES GET PRETTY SCALDING. YOU DON'T WANT TO FORGET AND LEAVE THIS ON SOMEWHERE. ONE OF THE THINGS IT COULD DO IS MAKE HEAT MARKS ONTO FURNITURE. I KNOW THAT FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I HAD MY LEGS ON IT, AND THE WIRES MADE WIRE MARKS ONTO SOME FABRIC FURNITURE. THE MARKS DON'T COME OUT FROM WHAT I CAN SEE. I USE THIS ON MY BED ON TOP OF MY THICK COMFORTER USUALLY. I WOULD BUY THIS HEATING PAD AGAIN. IN COMPARISON TO A SPA TREATMENT, YOU GET EQUIVALENT RELAXATION THERAPY IN MY OPINION WELL WORTH WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT. ALTHOUGH I REALLY HOPE THAT IT HOLDS OUT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR, OTHERWISE I MIGHT NOT BUY IT AGAIN......

Thermophore products are exceptional! I've been using their moist heat pads for years and my last one finally conked out. I ordered the smaller sized version this time and like how they've improved the on/off switch to be more ergonomic. Moist heat penetrates so well to relax sore muscles. Pricey but worth it.

This is my second one, first one is still operating but needed a second in lieu of moving the first around. The temp control is easy, either ON or OFF. It gets quite HOT not warm but HOT. This item is used by professional RMTs.

Heats up fast, great for sore areas

Para que caliente, hay que mantener apretado un botoncito para que suba la temperatura y luego soltarlo para que deje de calentar, es decir, no tiene un mando donde puedas configurar la resistencia y/o intensidad deseada. Fuera de eso es cómoda y calienta bastante bien, práctica y fácil de guardar.
