Spader, Personal Space Invader (Little Boost) Review: Helped our Kindergartner Understand Personal Space - Great book to teach younger children about personal space. I have an autistic five year old who is still working on understanding social cues and this book has been a great help. Now when he gets a bit too close, I use the phrase “you’re being a space invader” and it immediately clicks. Overall, recommend. Review: Great book for kids under ~7 years old to talk about personal space - This book was recommended to me by a pre-school teacher to help my son with his invasion of other's personal space. This has helped give us language around personal space using animal characters (his preferred type of characters) and we use the terminology all the time now: "Be space saver, not a space invader!" We talk about how other kids who get in his personal space may not know this kind of information yet, so we should help teach them that they can learn to be a space saver too by using our words to tell them when they are in our personal space. Highly recommend this book along with the "Personal Space Camp" book to teach about personal space.

Best boundaries book for kids who stand too close and touch too much.
We read this book over and over and over again. It is enjoyable. The main character's love for being close to other people is seen as a positive trait for home, but not for school. It is an uplifting story that does an excellent job of teaching young kids to respect other people's bubbles, and also that respecting other's bubbles doesn't mean that on has to go the opposite extreme and give up relationship. In reading this story, one child learned how to give people space and this child's sibling learned how to say "no" to his sibling being in his space.

So cute!
I teach first grade and was having some issues with students being too close and in each other’s space. This was a great, cute and appropriate read-aloud! Now when they get too close I say, “Self check, are you being a personal space invader?” It’s perfect.

Cute book!
Cute book. Definitely a conversation starter for my 4 year old who has no sense of personal space. I was looking for a book that talked about what personal space is, why it's important to have boundaries, and had examples of what not to do. This kinda touches on all of those bases! Harrison P. Spader learns a trick to keep enough space between him & others but then he ends up using that trick too much and creating too much space sometimes. That's not really a problem we have and the book focuses a lot on that. I just felt that part took away from the message we were really trying to convey when reading this book. It's still a great read, and again, it's a conversation starter! It gets you talking about personal space in a fun way & that has really helped us a lot.

Simple and effective
My son is 4 and has special needs. He struggles with giving his peers and adults personal space. Their book taught him to be a space saver. He was able to show me how to give personal space after only one reading. Great book.

Fantastic for helping little ones learn the concept of personal space!
This book is a great learning tool for helping kids learn about personal space. The pandemic has made it more difficult for my grandson to learn and practice important social skills. Harrison’s story helped explain personal space in a fun and meaningful way, with a very positive tone! And he’s doing so much better at remembering to give other people personal space with Harrison prompts! This is a great book for classrooms and homes!

Attention Getter
The story immediately got the attention of my 4 & 6 year old grandchildren. It was even read in my 6 year old grandsons kinder class by his teacher! My daughter tells me that it is currently on the top 5 list for bedtime.

very cute childrens book, well written and easy for young children to follow. I can simply say "space saver" and they will step back and think about how close they are to the other person.

This one is a great buy for the home, or for the classroom, especially for kiddos who are learning about respecting personal space. Fun and silly, but a great story line.
