Electronic Formulas, Symbols & Circuits

I didn't realize when I ordered it was a repurposing of the mini engineers notebooks. I saw Forrest Mims and jumped on it. Strangely enough, I lost my original copies of the notebooks so i think it might have been fate. It's a lot of reference material and lots of good example circuits for the beginner or someone looking for a starting place for a larger project.

A nice well written handy little reference book!! This is something to keep in my workshop indeed!! I am so happy to have this in my presence!!

I usually dislike textbooks but Forrest Mims deserves a spot on my book shelf. I think of him as the Bob Ross of electronics. His series of books are incredibly detailed but simple enough that you don't need a math degree to understand. He gives you enough information to get you going in a well compiled, easy to follow way. Combine Forrest Mims with The Art of Electronics and you can teach yourself a great deal about circuitry. Out of the other books in this mini series, I believe this should be the first on your list because it covers the basis of all common electronics. I especially recommend this for teenagers or even kids interested in Electronics.

A must have for engineers. As an RF engineer, it’s priceless and super handy to have close by.

GREAT MIMS BOOK

I had all of the engineers mini-notebooks by Forrest Mims when I was a kid. These newer ones are just the same expect they consolidated several of the small books into each of the larger new books. I now have all 4 of the new books and this one is the absolute must have. The others are cool, but this one is not optional for the beginner. Hundreds of symbols, formulas, and dozens of practical beginner up to intermediate circuit schematics.

Author made a small notebook compilation simple and easy to use when in need to have a calculation done. I look up my needed formula instead of having to recall from memory of something that I don't use on an everyday basis. I am a licensed amateur radio hobbyist and I may need to understand/refresh myself on something I learned from a ways back. I simply look it up, use it properly, then put my notebook back on the bookshelf. The wheel doesn't have to be re-invented. No harm having this notebook. I don't want to have a big physics textbook for simple hobbyist amateur radio calculations. Speaking for myself, I purchased this notebook because it is compact, practical, and not a big tome with other distractions. Author is good with his selected dedicated subject matter. It helps me to understand my limited amateur hobby somewhat better . I readily profess, other higher tech physics is beyond me. Cellular phones at 1 watt of power can do many much more apps than my amateur radio can do at 25 Watts. An iPhone can easily carry the ability for over 700K+ apps. There you go...!

Not the kind of book I have expected, though I have read lots of good reviews of this book before the purchase. Pretty basic stuff for a price. Hate that notebook type of pattern on the paper that was used. And handwriting style of text used. Hard to read someone's handwriting as usual. And all CAPITAL LETTERS. Missing decimal points in some formulas.
