Student Edition Volume 2 Grade 1 2017 (Journeys)

I highly recommend purchasing both the student and teacher's handbook. I teach English as a Second Language and I find this serious to be well organized. In the teachers edition, the lessons are broken into easy to follow mini lessons, with a writing sample and an I do, we do, you do approach. What I especially love about this series is it provides sentence frames for writing! So useful so that students can practice how certain paragraphs/essays are structured. In the teacher's edition, there are also additional lessons in the back of the back as well. Terrific resource!

This book was very user friendly. It lays out exactly what is expected from the kids to comprehend at grade level 2. I highly recommend this handbook as a tool for understanding the writing process. It clearly explains the definition of an Informative writing, narrative, persuasive and how to clearly explain a concept from a 2nd. graders point of view. Highly recommended!

I am not in favor of Common Core anything!!!! Common Core distorts history and everything that is life. Life is just what it is. Common Core does not encourage thinking fro oneself
