Great for mixing mortar in buckets!

First, as the description says, it does not fit in a half inch chuck drill. If you have a cheap 6" bench grinder this is easily remedied in about 5 minutes. I just rotated the shaft in my hand while using the coarse wheel and then finished off the job with the fine wheel. Since end of the shaft has six sides which are close to 1/2" it is easy to see whether your grinding is even as the points are ground off. When the points are gone you have a perfect circle of the right size. Before I touched things up with the fine wheel there was a slight wobble when run in my drill.I suppose that if you poured an entire 80 pound big of concrete in your bucket and then your water this thing might give a lesser powered drill some difficulty. I start by putting some water in the bucket and then adding the mix and then more water and more mix. This works very well, and this mixer is much easier on the bucket than the large diameter paddle that I was using previously.I am using a Ryobi One Brushless 1/2" drill with a 9aH 18v battery. It has plenty of power the way that I have been using it and has not been overheating. I have several mixing paddles, each of a different style, this one is the best in my opinion.

Official Collomix product. I had absolutely no issues using the paddle in the Collomix mixer and it does a great job. It also cleans easily in a bucket of water needing only a wipe down and a small brush for the nooks and crannies of the welds. The finish holds up very well so far, too. The price cannot be beat as opposed to buying retail.

Works great if your mixing thick epoxy floor compound to prevent mixing in air bubbles. The alternatives I looked at all come with dual turbine blades which will create a pocket of air within the mixture. This is the only alternative.

This paddle is a cheaper although even more muscular version of what is available online from GFRC websites. The design of the mixing blades prevents "shredding" of the GFRC fibers. It easily mixed a 50 lb. bag plus a gallon of modifier in a 5 gallon bucket. You need lots of power for this paddle. Rent the biggest most powerful electric drill you can find. Trying to use a regular drill to move this paddle through GFRC is asking for trouble!

Well built, great for thick mortars. Wont entrain air or scrape plastic bits into the mix from the side of a plastic pail. Use a heavy duty drill with this if using for mortars, it requires a lot of torque to spin, if you have it then it performs. Only reason for four stars is that it is painted, so that will scrape off into the mix the first few times, but for the price what do you expect? You will spend a lot more for stainless, so for most users this is a great value.
