I love this mattress cover! For all the reasons I am looking for. So last year I had to see an immunologist because of my chronic cough and he ended up advising me to get such a cover because I am allergic to dustmite. I did a bit of research then put it off. This year's high allergy season is coming soon. My husband and daughter had already been coughing for weeks. And also our 1.5 yo toddler keeps sleeping in our bed and messing it up with her various body fluids (which I will not specify here). So when I saw this one, I was like it is finally time to invest to protect our mattress and ourselves. The price is pretty reasonable for a Cal King size. And I liked how soft the top layer feels, which feels like full cotton, even though we do not sleep directly on it I can feel it through our thin layer of sheet ( we don't use anything in between currently and that is also why I feel it's so important to have another layer). Underneath the cotton layer there is a water proof layer. I was concerned about noise because it's kinda plasticy but now that we have put it on, I notice no trace if that. It is as good as we had nothing underneath. The bottom layer seems really water proof because when I washed it the water stayed pretty much on the surface. Yet we haven't had an accident yet so I can't say much there. The only difference I have noticed is that our mattress has a gel layer and some cooling effect, with this barrier I feel a bit less of that cooling effect. But I think that is to be expected for something that is waterproof. And I would exchange that for the protection anytime. Overall I am very satisfied with this product so far.

This is a great waterproof mattress protector. I have one on all the beds. This protector is not noisy when moving around on the bed. I have had some that sound like you are laying on plastic. With the right protector your mattress can remain in spotless condition clear up until the mattress wears out. I can highly recommend this.

I'm shopping for a new mattress cover, because I'm getting ready to potty train another child, and this mattress cover isn't available soon enough. I've been dissatisfied with the reviews I've seen of other mattress covers, so I thought I'd go back and edit my own review. The waterproofing on this works. My son has tested it HARD. Full bladder release and so tired that he lies in it for hours, AND THE MATTRESS IS DRY. Unfortunately, we've tested it many a time. And it's worked, for years, and after LOTS of washes. I picked this cover because I was looking for a mattress cover that gave at least SOME side coverage, without the expense of a full five-sided cover or the hassle of an encasement. My child is potty-training, and I don't want to have to remove an encasement as often as I wash this thing. But my child rolls up against the railing, and so wets all the way to the edges sometimes. Most top-only cover don't cover the whole top, or at least they shrink quickly to they don't quite get the corners. My son gets the corners! The photos for this cover show the top coming over the edges a bit, which would be enough for my purposes. It doesn't quite cover that much on my child's mattress. It's probably better than my previous cover, but only time (and washings) will tell. Perhaps if the fit had been snugger (the mattress is not very thick) it would stretch out and pull down more like the photo. I have no complaints about water-absorbancy, but it hasn't been tried that hard yet. He's been staying pretty dry since we got it.

This is the bomb lovely and makes sleeping a good thing. it stays snug on the bed and I will recommend it to everyone.

SIZE: Queen size bed (80x60 or whatever) USE: Two kids who like to sleep with Mommy, but sometimes wet the bed :( PROS: Easy to put on, covers the entire top of the bed from corner to corner, deep fitted sides, so it fits my bed with 8" cushion topper & Waterproof (at least for the hour or so it was wet & on the bed). The top had a nice towel look & feel without being too pad-ish & the underside is an extremely thin "plastic" that feels & moves like a regular sheet with no crinkly plastic sounds or feel. CONS: The fitted sides are not waterproof & since it only goes corner to corner, if they pee on the edge, there's a chance it won't hit the waterproof part (but there's only a slim chance that will happen since my youngest is an edge sleeper & still got the waterproof part....especially if your bed doesn't have an 8" topper) EXPERIENCE: When I first took it out of the box, I thought it was too thin to do anything, especially since I could barely tell that it was on the bed. I did not have high hopes for it, so I put an older, completely plastic one I had in the closet underneath it. But, when it got wet, I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I just changed my kids, the sheets, the mattress pad (I bought two), threw away the COMPLETELY DRY plastic one & went back to sleep. No issues with a wet bed. DIAGNOSIS: I would definitely recommend to anyone & once I get the bed for my guest bedroom, I'll be ordering this mattress pad for it, as well. **Please Note: I am now 100% certain that this is waterproof, as the pad was wet for so long before I changed it, that it dried...and my mattress never got wet nor did it smell like pee**

My German shepherd peed on my bed. A lot. It did not go through this mattress protector!!!

Material looks and feels good. yes it's waterproof material. Texture and finishing is also good. Most important for me is Material is breathable. Protector is Compatible with my mattress. Just keep in mind the size before ordering.

US sizing? Bought for a UK king but loose even on my superking.

It is good and serves the purpose. It does make a small plastic sound when climbing on your bed which could wake up a sleeping baby (if they aren’t in deep slee). But fits perfectly on the mattress.
