Give yourself Piece of mind buy the Name Brand it's worth it
Originally I used to used a Brita or purchased bottled water my tap water regularly had an over chlorinated smell and taste. In my last Kitchen remodel I added this filter under sink to feed a Hot and Cold Water spigot for drinking and cooking water and the Refrigerators Chilled Water and Ice Maker, I also use it to fill my Sodastream bottles and Keurig reservoir and even the dogs water bowl. This avoids the hassle of boiling, cooling, and filtering the water or lugging home 2.5 gallon refrigerator jugs for all the water we consume and cook with. Years later we found out in a community board meeting all that extra chlorine was about them tamping down some nastiness or other in the water supply but it's all good now because they switched to another aquifer. Yay! Although there are several off-brand filters compatible with this interface only the GE Brand filters slow down over time to the point the water flow rate is so slow it's annoying usually around 3-6 months of use. I tried a couple of the off-brand filters because it was cheaper than GE brand and it was well over 12 months before it occurred to me I hadn't changed it in a while and looked at the date I wrote on the side. This leads me to believe the off-brand filters either don't filter down to the same level or they have a bypass in the design that lets water pass when the filter material is too clogged either way it is tantamount to not having the filter at all. Give your self piece of mind, Buy the GE brand keep a couple of spares on hand and rotate them regularly. Enjoy great tasting Water and Coffee.

Best Filter System
I live in a subdivision which has its own water system (now owned by the city). Whenever they shock the system, chlorine smell and taste is evident. I first bought one of these units, with the mounting and connections, about 18 years ago and the filter does eliminate the chlorine smell and taste, so I figure it must also eliminate the other contaminates listed. The GE filter is rather expensive, but it is worth it. If your water is from a well, I would definitely recommend GE. There are compatible filters which are less costly and I've used one; but I've come back to using the OEM. Since I mainly use the filtered water when brewing coffee (either in the drip maker or single-use brewer) or using water in a recipe; I use only about 50 oz. a day -- so the filter lasts at least six months. UPDATE on June 2025 -- Almost every day, I only use 30 oz. That would equal 600 days. However, I do change the filter every year because about once-a-week (or longer) I fill up the Keurig K-Slim resevoir.

It’s ok
Filter is ok, water taste good, no chlorine aftertaste, but it starts significantly slowing down after few weeks, the last one lasted only two month and it wasn’t used a lot

So pleased to have found this, as replacements for my particular GE under-sink filter system are getting harder to find. It's a little snug, so just be sure to twist it on fully. Water quality if wonderful. Will definitely buy again form this seller.
