Works well on my Old Mac running 10.11.6 El Capitan
Finally got around to updating my 2009 mac mini to 10.11.6 (It's 2020. I know, I know, it's an 11 year old computer. But it still works). As soon as I updated the bluetooth in the mac mini quit working. I tried everything, resetting the bluetooth device, removing the devices from it, resetting the P ram, the SMC, opening in "safe mode" and running diagnostics on the computer itself... nothing. Until I plugged in this little guy. This device worked seamlessly... I didn't even know it installed. As soon as I plugged it in, my trackpad was available for use and I was able to turn on and off the bluetooth on the computer itself. I unplugged this device and the bluetooth quit working. Plugged it back in and it worked again. All of this to say, this device conclusively works with mac products (at least mac mini's from 2009) running El Capitan. Glad I purchased it.

Heaven Sent saved my 2010 MacBook Pro.
As the title says I have a 2010 MacBook Pro. I've updated the hard drive, memory and replaced the battery. What I was unable to do was upgrade my bluetooth from version 2.1 to 4.0. Version 2.1 constantly drops out when using newer devices it was so annoying. They don't make an upgrade 4.0 bluetooth board for my mid 2010 MacBook. When I did connect using the original 2.1 Bluetooth, the transmit distance was very limited and if I moved the laptop just a little, it would drop out. I decided to try the Hideez USB Bluetooth dongle. This is like having a new computer. The bluetooth is so strong I can go in another room with no dropouts. The setup instructions are lacking to say the least but once you get it setup you will be glad you purchased this little devices. I can't say enough good things about the product. At one point I had considered purchasing a new laptop because the bluetooth was so bad sothis little device save me thousands of dollars.

Did not work and then it physically broke
This did not work with my Mac mini, and the metal frame pulled off within the first few times removing it.I bought this because I had trouble with the built-in bluetooth on my Mac mini. I purchased this device because it explicitly indicated it worked with Macs. After inserting and rebooting the computer, this bluetooth dongle did not immediately become active, which wasn't necessarily that surprising; I wasn't sure what I would need to do to have the Mac OS start using this as the default bluetooth. But more surprising is that it did not show up as a USB device in the USB device tree from the "system report". I also noticed it was fairly hot. I removed and reinserted it a couple times, and then I inserted it into the USB hub in my monitor, where it still wasn't recognized. When I removed it from this USB connector, the metal frame of this USB dongle remained in the connector, and the internals pulled out. Without the metal frame, my finger touched the PCB, and it was extremely hot.I returned it. I haven't yet followed up trying a different external bluetooth with my Mac mini.

Works okay, but online instructions don't...
I have my M1 Mac mini (running Monterey) inside a small closet pantry next to where our monitor, keyboard and mouse are. Unfortunately, the built-in Bluetooth is not very good - the pointer lags and jumps around, possibly because there is a steel vent which runs up the wall between the Mini and where we use the mouse (Apple Bluetooth "Magic Mouse").But the monitor (Apple 24") has USB slots in the back, so I was hoping this thing would help, and it does appear to, so far. But the instructions at dongle.hideez.com don't work.Specifically, "Step 4":"The next time you turn on your computer, please pull out and insert the Dongle into the USB port, and the system will use the Hideez Dongle."Yeah, no. Bluetooth goes away and won't come back unless you restart (again) with the dongle plugged in (and left plugged in). Also, this shows up in the Mini's "About this Mac/system report" as "THIRD_PARTY_DONGLE", not "Cambridge silicon radio".So, five stars for the hardware, down to four stars for the instructions.

Works with Mac (Intel based)
My Bluetooth failed on my almost $3000.00 iMac. I have used Apple's Genius Bar before, and did not feel like going back half-a-dozen times over the course of many weeks. So I bought this Bluetooth adapter to hold me over till I could get in a space to have time for a repair. This little unit has been so awesome, I think I will just wait till I have something more major to brave the Apple store. I have had no issues, and it found my mouse and headset as soon as the OS found it. I would recommend this adapter to anyone having Bluetooth issues.

It was great the first time...
When I first recieved the Hideez USB Bluetooth Reciever I loved it! It was so easy to set up after downloading the driver on the Hideez website and watching a video (for a Macbook Pro late 2015). My Bluetooth function stopped working so I opted to buy one of these instead. It was great for one day until my younger sister accidentally stepped on it and it split into a million pieces. That being said, it is still well worth your money -- so I proceeded to order a second one. It came and it is so faulty! Not one Bluetooth device is recognized even when it says on System Preferences and System Reports that it is in use. I'm not sure if I want to order any other anymore because now it seems not consistent.
