MegaGear MG286 Ever Ready Leather Camera Case Compatible with Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 VI, DSC-RX100 V, DSC-RX100 IV, DSC-RX100 III - Light Brown

This case is awesome. It fits the Sony RX-100 III perfectly and is beautifully made. It strikes the perfect balance between being very retro looking, yet is very functional and protects the camera very well. It is an outstanding deal at $30. On mine, the back of the case prevented the rear lcd from returning to the flat position on the back of the camera, so it took a bit of pushing the case down to get it to work fine. Also, realize the you have to remove the case to charge the battery or change the memory card, again, the knurled screw on the bottom (which also is milled so you can use a tripod, monopod with it) allows you to remove and put the case back on in seconds. I really love the carmel color of the leather and the soft texture inside. I chose to go with a different strap, but the strap that comes with it is beefy and of good quality as well. Everyone that sees the case has commented on how attractive and "cool" looking it is.

I got this case for my Sony RX III. I loved the aesthetics of it, and planned to use it as my primary camera case. The case is beautiful, and it certainly helps you keep a better grip of the camera, but the lack of function ultimately made me switch to a simple compact camera case. The cover is slick, but once it is off, it is cumbersome to find a place for it. It doesn't fit comfortably into your pocket. I wish I could button it around my strap when not in use, so I can easily put it back on when I am done. But when it is off, it is useless. It is also difficult to quickly slip on and off because of the placement of the buttons. You also need to take off the entire cover if you ever need to change the battery or memory card. When you take a lot of pictures, this is super annoying. I am giving it five stars because the product itself is beautiful and could serve another person well. If you plan to charge and download the pictures via the USB (i.e. never take the case off), you will be fine. But for my purposes, the function just didn't fit my requirements.

Great case. I get more questions about and compliments on the case, than I do on my RX100IV. The retro styling is really nice. Most people assume it's a film camera just based on the case. Build quality is solid. Slightly padded on the backside, where the screen is covered. Soft suede feel on the inside is nice on the camera. I've had it for months now and the slight weathering and wear on the case just adds to it's character. If you use the power cable to charge your RX100, you can access the port to do so without removing the camera from the cover. On the downside, the only thing I don't like, is that to access the battery/SD card compartment on the bottom, you must unscrew and remove the camera from the case. Given the pretty high power consumption rate at which the batteries need changing, this can be a bit of an annoyance. But my only complaint about what is a really nice case.

Excellent fit for the DSC-RX 100 VI. The open design is easy to use and offers quick access to the controls and unobstructed access to the articulating lcd display. Rugged construction and strap provide great protection and security to the camera. I often uses a Manfrotto monopod with a quick release capable head. The case accepts the monopod mount and it is possible to unsnap the front cover to use the camera, and close the case with the quick release attached (with a little effort) with quick release plate attached. The camera will need to be removed from the case to replace the battery and sd card, but requires no tools to do so and can be accomplished quickly. It's not weather-proof, but having destroyed several earlier cameras in the field, for me this case is a perfect fit, not only for the camera, but for me as well. EDIT: The LCD cannot be tilted for view when you want to hold the camera above your head due to interference from the case. I still like this case very much, but as a result I have left the strap that comes with the camera attached for instances when I wish to remove the camera for full LCD access.

I bought this case for my RX-100. The case is slightly larger than the camera and there is a lot of empty space left (about 1/3 inch at the top), so the entire construction is loose. In general, the case has this nice retro look and serves its purpose - to protect the camera. However, because it is loose, difficult to open quickly, and doesn't allow to charge the camera without completely taking it from the case, I can give only 2 stars.

Very protective case! This is a high quality protective case. Everything on it is quality including the stitching and the snaps. The bad is - because the leather is so thick, it makes it a little bulky to use the camera. The good part is... the leather is so thick it will last a long time. Perhaps after breaking it in more it will loosen up as it is still fairly new.

One of the snaps broke within the first week or two of ownership. :(

The camera case arrived very fast -- within two days after I ordered it online. Unfortunately, the camera case arrived defective, as the stationary metal button fastener on the bottom was not properly attached and immediately fell off the case as soon as I removed it from the packaging. The leather and the inside fabric appeared to be high quality, but the metal hardware was cheap and quality control did not do a simple check to ensure that the primary button could successfully fasten and unfasten. Perhaps this case was a lemon, but it was disappointing to say the least.
