A fantastic sequel and honestly my favorite of the series.
I had been waiting years for another Devil May Cry game to come out, and yes I actually did like the reboot contrary to popular opinion. But I wasn't against the idea of a fifth entry of the original series coming out and it did. Boy did it not disappoint, the combat was awesome and smooth and very responsive, the story was very entertaining and satisfying, and the overall production quality was fantastic with Capcom yet again utilizing their very awesome RE Engine. V is also my favorite character to play as, his combat is so unique and refreshing, especially in this series. Overall the game was worth the money and I'm so glad I was able to snag a copy of the Deluxe Edition before it sold out. If I had to complain about one thing it's that the American PS4 version was censored by Sony (there are a couple fully nude shots of female characters that are censored by obnoxious lens flares) and it is showing that yet again Sony doesn't care what the rating on the game is, if they want to censor it they'll censor it. Fortunately if that really bothers you then you can play it on Xbox and PC and it is uncensored. But it doesn't really affect the game as a whole it's just something Sony needs to fix and stop doing. So great job once again Capcom you're coming back better and better with each new game recently and I'm looking forward to more Devil May Cry in the future.

The hype lives up (Spoiler Free)
DMCV builds upon the combat and style of 4(and 4:SE) and doubles down on the action. Each character's play style is unique and distinct - Nero focuses on utility with his Devil Breakers, Dante is all about switching styles and weapons on the fly and newcomer V uses his familiars to attack for him. Capcom fixed and streamlined a lot of things gameplay-wise: • You now see your style score while doing the mission instead of having to beat it first and replay it • Secret Mission entrances are larger and have clear indications • The 'speed' skill no longer takes 5 seconds to kick in (DMC4 issue) • A training room has been added to practice and experiment combos/Breaker loadouts (courtesy of DmC: Devil May Cry) • The grading for the end results screen of levels has been reworked, while also displaying various achievements you did that awarded you bonuses (e.g. taunting a lot, using EX-Act, popping balloons) Fans of previous DMC games will feel right at home as they hack-and-slash their way through demon hordes as stylishly as possible. DMCV is also newcomer-friendly; Auto-assist is available for those who aren't heavily dexterous or have motor function issues, allowing you do different combos and attacks, without the complex motions associated with them. There's also the previously mentioned training room, from which you can change various gameplay/enemy settings to practice with. All in all, I'd say this is a fantastic entry in the DMC franchise and a phenomenal action game worth your time.

Awesome game, kinda rushed delivery.
Normally I would give a product like this a glowing review if the delivery goes smoothly and the product works well, but I feel like this should be addressed since I did pre-order the game new. The delivery was relatively quick, faster than I was expecting. However, when I got the item I saw that the plastic wrapping around it was torn off from the bottom, and the bottom end of the spine of the case was kind of creased, along with the cover art of the case. Thankfully the contents were fine, the game was untouch and so we’re the downloadable codes for the game. This isn’t anything too bad as the case wasn’t in serious condition, but I do feel like the delivery was kind of miss handled which is why I am giving this four stars instead of the usual five.

Devil Trigger
Came right on time. Loved the game. I've played all the other ones, yes even the reboot. I loved this one. It does have some predictability in the storyline but its really a fan service but done well. I enjoyed the new character and combat. Great fun, looking forward to the next one.

Exceeded all expectations.
I’ve been a fan of the DMC series and was stoked to hear that there would be a 5th. The package came in its original plastic wrapping, no sign of damage was seen. The gameplay so far is excellent, and the game came with the code to redeem the additional content.

Vastly better than DMC4, still worse than DMC3
Looks good, plays okay, and has some variety to it. The gameplay is mostly fun, the boss battles are interesting, and I had a fairly good time with the game. Unfortunately, I haven't felt like going back to it since beating it. Personally, I find Nero a substantially worse-written knockoff of Dante and I don't appreciate the seemingly relentless attempt to make him the main character. At least the game design choices that made DMC4 insufferable (e.g. timed jumping puzzles with a fixed camera) are absent.

Exceeding all expectations
First off, I'd recommend getting familiar with the previous games before playing this; there are alot of story references to previous games. Amazon asked me if this game met my expectations. The answer is just like the director, Hideaki Itsuno said: it exceedes ALL my expectations!!!!!!
